I just exchanged my set thru americas tire, bummed they didnt perform well on my stock tundra. I bought an oe size goodyear ATs with kevlar.

tire manager said theyve have nothing but complaints on e rated tires on tundras.

That's weird. A tire will not make the truck pull (unless you have a significantly different size or weight tire on one side which you did not have). Also, there are lots of guys here running those tires and nobody had the same or even similar complaints.

Probably tire defect, i ran 265/70/18 e rated, had it rebalanced twice. Still shaky, unstable, un safe feel on the tires.
I ran it at door sticker suggest psi, 36, 38 and 40 psi all same. I had enough went with stock oe size and went with goodyears. Not hating on coopers, just my luck.

Do they do road force balancing? My previous ko2s and new AT3 XLTs were both super smooth being balanced that way.

Not even sure, i had it with that issue. I have a low tolerance when it comes to dealing with bull chit. I cant tolerate tinkering, thus why my tundra stays stock and my mods go to my 96 tacoma.

the coopers were a good looking and im sure if it wasn’t defective itll perform fine. But goodyears it is for
    Now.

Do these tires have two or three plies in the sidewall?

Sounds more like a wheel issue.
I bought a set of Anthem wheels and could NEVER get rid of the steering wheel shimmy after 7 balances, 4 of them road force.
I kept the documentation from all attempts and contacted Anthem.
They sent me 2 more wheels for the 2 worse balancing wheels.
    Same issue.
Put the stock wheels back on, shimmy gone.
I'm very lucky Anthem let me return the wheels for a full refund, although I did spend over $600 on all the balances.

I just put the aftermarket wheels on maybe 500 miles ago. All of my experiences with the tires were on factory TRD OR wheels. I had them rebalanced and they are doing better but we are getting into warmer weather now so the flat spotting only lasts a couple minutes and they are warmed up. My mechanic looked over the wheels and they are running true. I think the majority is that they were on 8" wide wheels for almost 10k miles and now they are on 9" wide wheels. They are wearing in different areas now. They are getting fairly loud now too. I'll hopefully see for sure if a tire problem, I'm upgrading size once I get my BMC done.

    Thank you for the update.
I plan on buying these tires when my KO2s wear out.
Those Anthem wheels I bought were the same size as my stock wheels, 20X9, but had a +18 offset as opposed to the stock +55.
I don't know why I couldn't get them to balance.
I was lucky they gave me a refund.

Here are some pics at the attempts to balance..

Dang!!! That a lot of weight, but BFG A/Ts are notorious for not balancing well. My work when I was in AZ ran those on the work rigs and they wouldnt balance out very good , course we were hard as hell on them too

Got an email back from Cooper. There are no plans to offer the AT3 XLT in 265/70/R17. Apparently the AT3 LT is their equivalent in the smaller size.

Holy hell. With all that weight on the wheels you probably dropped 2 mpg.

Glad they took those wheels back.

I have around 10k miles on these tires now. So far, been very impressed with the ride and low road noise.

So far I have done two balances and one rotation.

My rear tires are down to 12/32” from 17/32.

Front tires are down to 14-15/32”.

From these measurements, I highly doubt 60k miles will be reached. Been towing pretty heavy lately, so not real surprised.

So if 60k doesn’t get reached then they still fall under Cooper 60k warranty correct?

Yep. It usually isn’t much even if they only make it to 40k miles (I’ll be happy if they do). Personally, I would rather have a tire that works great for 90% of my needs and has a shorter life vs the other way around.

I was rather impressed with these tires.

4wd was rarely used in the storms and ice.

Got mine a few days ago as well, replaced the stock Michelins. Slight steering wheel wobble so I'll probably try to rebalance.

First time driving on E rated tires. The steering response is more noticable than I expected (good thing).

Ride doesn't seem any harsher but I'm noticing I can feel some of the smaller pot holes and broken pavement a little more. The old tires were squishy and kind of floated over everything.

Haven't noticed any loss in power up to 60mph but need to see how it does at 80 on the rolling highway.

All in all glad I went this route so far. I was debating because of all the comments about harsh ride and power loss. Don't care about mpg.

    Will report back on rebalance.

I'm sure I'll see the power loss on the highway, just didn't notice it on back roads. I already thought 6th gear was weak on the highway. Plan is to regear and install a blower at some point.

Did some highway driving. There were only a few inclines where I noticed the power decrease. Otherwise I couldn't tell.

I didn't notice them being any louder until I drove over an hour and found my ears ringing. That's probably the biggest negative so far. I read these tires were quiet compared to some others but they are definitely louder than the stock squishies

Yes, definitely louder than oem. Other members were blowing smoke saying they were quiter or just as quiet.

    I wouldnt recommend E rated
Unless you tow frequently and long distances.

Wouldn't call them quieter than OEM, butt they're quieter than the Terra grapplers I had before. These are larger than the Nittos too.

What do you guys tolerate for wheel balance? Or what is a reasonable goal?

I have a decent steering wheel wobble between 50 and 60. Everywhere else it's so slight I don't mind. Planning to take them back for a reblalnce but just wondering what my expectations should be. Zero wheel shake would be nice.
