Thanks. I got mine installed on Friday, not sure what psi they set them to and I haven't had a chance to check, but feels like it might be a little on the high side. This gives me a place to start.

I emailed Cooper tire support regarding tire pressure and ask them what is the recommended pressure to run the AT3 XLT. This is their response:

“Thank you for your email. Always follow the air pressure recommendation of the vehicle manufacturer as listed on the placard on the door of your vehicle. Proper air pressure is based on the weight of your vehicle and is determined by the vehicle manufacturer and not the brand or type of tire you have. Even if you’ve changed tire sizes or rim diameters you would still utilize the door placard recommended pressure settings. Also, never exceed the max air pressure as listed on the sidewall of the tire. For your Tundra, you would run the tires at 33 psi both front and rear.

If you have questions regarding this or need more information please contact your vehicle manufacturer. There are several sites you can refer to as well regarding tire pressure safety.

I checked mine this morning and Discount Tire had them set at 40psi front and rear.

Yeah, the receipt from Discount said to have the front at 40 and rear at 45. They inflated to 40 all around.

Tires still impress me when I actually need them.

    Yesterday

2wd. I actually turned around due to visibility was almost non existent. The second video I was going 10-12 mph.

If there could be one gripe with the tires, is they do pick up rather large rocks and either huck them or stay in the tread. Living off a dirt road or driveway might get annoying. I pick out the rocks every so often now. 4500 miles on tires.

Installed these before my yearly ski trip to Snowshoe, WV and glad I did. When we got there, no new snow anywhere. The night before we left, we got around 6-7” of fresh powder on top of 1/4” of ice. Coming down the mountain Thursday was easy and I never felt like the truck was going to slide. I am so glad I went with these instead of the other options I considered. 490032D5-341B-45E0-B51E-6E910744B6E7.jpg

That does not jive what what I have seen based on other posts where when people check with the tire manufacturer for pressure on new LT tires- moving from P to an LT.

I am so ready to get mine...but the tires on it now still have some life.

275/55/20 - stuck with stock size, as I have not lifted.

Will go bigger on next set of tires as I will lift at that time

Funny, I received that same email the day you posted this. I have the 275/70/18 AT3 XLTs and he recommended I do 30 front and 33psi rear. I'm at 40psi all the way around but plan on doing another chalk test.

285/75R18 at 40psi. Super quiet. Rides like the stock tires on my 2019 crew max.

They are just quoting the door sticker. I know for a fact that is not correct when moving from a p to and E (or any LT) tire. Chalk test and vehicle handling on past jeeps and trucks I have owned proved it.

Chalk test takes 15 minutes. If wear looks ok, then drive it a few days around town and at speed and see how things feel.

I have seen MANY posts regarding air pressure here and on other sites, where people have contacted a tire manufacturer about air pressure on the vehicle and the answers are all over the place.

Just search here....you will see posts from folks with similar trucks (same class and size of tire) get many different recommendations back from tire manufactures.

    Update:

Have had these tires for almost 10,000 miles. Wearing ok, definitely louder then when they were new. I left them on all winter this year instead of switching to my usual snow tires. They did ok not great. All winter they would flat spot if I let it sit for over a day.

I had them mounted to my new wheels a couple weeks ago. Now they won't hold a balance. Have a constant shimmy and shake, currently running 40 psi at all 4 corners. This was after experimenting with different psi, 40 seems the best for the truck. At 33 front and 30 rear truck felt very squishy and unstable at speed in turns. I'm starting to wonder if the 9" wheel is affecting the tires characteristics. I have tried 3 different sets of lug nuts just to make sure the wheels are seated correctly and no change.
Re balanced twice and small incremental changes. With the 9" wide wheel they also take more weight to balance then the factory 8" wheel. I'm currently looking for a tire shop around me that does road force balancing and see if that helps. I have been wanting to up size so I may do that sooner then later, just stinks b/c there is a lot of tread life left on these. But the dealer included them in the deal when I bought so technically not losing money on them. Others have had great luck with the . I'm starting to wonder if I got a bad set or bad tire in my mix. Also my White Letter are different then what Cooper and others have posted. Mine are like the regular AT3's.

Just had these installed in 275/70/18 and they look and ride great. I have 9” wheels and my shop does road force balancing. Ride home was about 17 miles and was very smooth.

That’s an issue for the person who did your balance and alignment. They didn’t get the numbers right.

Its gona be the 2nd time going back “to make it right,” i have never had this happen before with tires and im starting to feel its a defective tire. This tire shop is americas tire and they are usually competent! Which makes me believe its defective.

balance probably will not cause a pull....would cause wobble or shimmy. When was the last time the truck had a front end alignment?

Have them move the front tires to the rear. If it is still pulling then you know it is something else.
