Not to hijack, but I'm not even considering any AR in California. I'll wait till I move. I am looking at shotguns, pistols and rifles. I stumbled on this little gem this morning.. Not a fan of the color, but this Ruger would be fun to shoot. Add a bigger mag out of state.

Guys relax. Bag on Colt all you want but they’re just filling military & LEO contracts.
It’s not caving to spineless politician scum - they may yet do that but this isn’t it.

Colt can't compete with other manufacturers of AR-15 rifles for the civilian market, they are bowing out to the competition on the civilian side so they can focus on the military & law enforcement side. Colt was a tier 1 manufacturer, but the competition passed them by long ago.

Those are pretty sweet rifles for the money. What caliber? A couple buddies have these chambered in .308. Kinda wondering how the 6.5 creedmoor would be.....

So true my friend. I'm saving money right meow for an AR-10 that I'm going to sink to the bottom of Pueblo Reservoir.

I would like to own a Grand, and @Rex Kramer has built many high quality rifles...but that might be out of the budget for a bit. Damn chicken coop.

LMFAO. I’m going to borrow that for an AR-15 forum I belong to. Not sure why I belong to one of those forums. AR’s are bad.

This. Colt can’t currently compete in a saturated market with far more affordable options that are of similar quality. They’ve got a couple hundred million dollars worth of foreign and domestic military and government contracts to fulfill, so they’ll take a break until they can compete again.

I love my Colt’s, most of my builds have started life as 6920’s

The work arounds for the AR platform is ridiculous. Juggernaut systems seem like a desperate attempt for manufacturers to stay relevant in California... 5.56 is sold out everywhere in the valley at the moment. Crazy

Well the recent 2A history (last 40 years) tells us that DC is pushed/pulled by lobbyists' $$$. This has become a poker game with a momentary fold status, watch the game's evolving, while still being at the table.

Colt has been, and currently is, an American standard for quality production. A benchmark.

Any shooter who has been involved in the training fields of MIL, or LE, or competition (3-gun) shooting in the last 10 years has seen Colt's evolution.

Go to the range, go to the club shoots, IDPA/IPSC, etc.. Colt 69XXs and their 1911s are a staple.
Their newer line of CSR guns built in their super secret squirrel location in Texas? I got mine, how many did you get? :hattip:
