I know this is an old thread, but I was wondering what you used to cut down the console organizer?
    Thanks.

Late to the party, but... G-Code quick release disk on velcro/adhesive with left-handed holster. Still on the fence with the placement since it's shorts weather now and my knee comes in contact with it more than I'd like. Great solution IMHO, keeps the weapon in easy reach and is easily detached when exiting the truck.

I'm a Springfield fanboy...got an XD Mod 2 for my EDC, XDM with Viridian laser/light combo for the missus' nightstand, and an XD 5.25" for my nightstand. All in .45.

I used the Viridian holster in my Tundra, using two shallow screws as the mounting points. Don't need the holster because I have a CWP. Great thing about this holster is it accepts all three of my pistols. Here's pics of the XDM and the XD Mod 2.

Ummm....sir, your weapon is hot. Please engage the safety. lol
Nice setup. I can see where it would rub my knee raw as well. I like under the steering wheel

The airbag under the steering wheel kinda made me nervous about mounting it there. Didn't feel like claymoring a .45 into my crotch in case of an accident. But that was my first placement choice.
    Welcome, by the way!

Dang! Good point. I just got my Tundra so I didn't realize there was an IED under there. I will have to reconsider my placement now. Thanx for the welcome.

Has anyone installed the Jotto locking holster? I have one that's been in the box for over a year. I am in Texas and don't frequent any place that doesn't allow guns, but some doctors offices, Post Offices, etc have the rule. So thinking about mounting it now that I have a new truck it might stay in for a few years. (knock on wood) P.S. First post.

Why are you removing your weapon and placing it somewhere in your vehicle while driving around? When you get surprised and yanked out of your truck they now have your truck and your gun. Why not just wear it on your person? I know some tough badass guy is gonna say "Oh Im not getting yanked out of my truck" news flash you can easily and without notice. We run through this exact scenario and we know its coming and still can't stop it. Safest place for your weapon and on your person period.

You recommend I flash my legs instead? Clearly you are of a superior intellect, break it down for those of us who haven't beat call of duty yet.

I mean, if the argument is that I dont train, (which i do), and that I'm going to pull the trigger before ready, would you recommend I draw across my own body instead?

Call of duty? I don't play games I am an adult. I literally have no Idea how to explain it any more.
    1. you drew the weapon and pointed it at the dash
    2. There is no 2 you re-holstered thus all you did was aim at the dash

For reference watch your own video 0-6sec

I could literally watch it 300 times doesn't change the fact you showed us two draws. One where you point it straight at the dash and one where you move it across your lap pointing it out the door. What do you not understand about your own video? I am mind blown at this point.

P.S Did any one expect you to actually fire off a round in a video demonstrating how you draw your weapon?? Come on

Not to be argumentative, but what is the optimal place to mount a firearm in a vehicle without drawing it at the dash? Even if the weapon is holstered on your hip, you're drawing it at the dash. SOB holster - forget it. Appendix carry is difficult in a vehicle if you wear a seat belt. If it's in a shoulder rig, you're still drawing it in a direction that is encumbered. Door mounts probably wouldn't do any good unless you're left handed, and console mounts take too long to access and clear.... I'm not trying to be a dick, I truly want to know the correct/best answer.

Jesus man, the first draw was simply to demonstrate a draw. It wasn't meant to impress internet rednecks. It was literally the first 5 minutes after installing, and getting a feel for it.

The second draw I avoided flashing my own body.. dont they teach you that in TN redneck militia school?

He's going to say body, but it's difficult as hell to draw from a sitting position with a center console and a seatbelt on.

I don't mind suggestions and criticism, but just being a dick out of nowhere deserves to be treated as such.

Your 2 draw had nothing wrong with it. My point was why are you drawing it and pointing it at the dash? That would never be a scenario just as you have mentioned. I was more so making fun of it and then you asked to elaborate even though I knew you were just doing it to see how quickly you could get it out of the holster. But on a lighter note you shouldn't remove your weapon from your person and put it in a holster in your car. You should always have it on you. How many law enforcement officers take their weapons off to sit in their car? When you get yanked out of your car now you have no gun or when you have to hop out really fast thats more time it takes to get the gun. you should want that thing attached to you at all time. Im no professional by any mean. I learn new things everyday just like everyone else and I make mistakes. But being a LEO for 14 years I have seen bad things go down when that weapon is not attached to the person.

The whole point of your video I understood I was just cracking a joke about the first draw thinking hmm prob get a yeah the radio sucks so I shot it not the other way around
