Why do folks think this won't happen to them? If you leave your truck on the street, anywhere. It seems to be a target. Be more vigilant.

F$@; me!! I hate thieves. Y’all need to park in deeper snow. Or on top of a hawthorn bush.

The thought of collecting big dog dookies and tossing them under the truck has occurred to me but I'd have to clean them up when I leave. But then maybe leave the stinking deterrent in the parking spot to help out the next guy keep his cats.

I was wondering about driving it with the cats missing. I would hate to be stuck at the boat ramp if it happened to me. Sounds like other then the noise it was OK to drive.

exhaust will go into the cabin, I drove mine home 2 hours and I had a headache all the way, kept opening up the windows to get the smell out.

My concern would be the heat from the raw exhaust on some of the components, wires, plastic or other flammable items under the truck. I'd bet there's a rear flamethrower right off the manifolds.

Society isn’t going anywhere. There are just a lot of people still willing to commit crime and right now cat thieves still face more reward versus risk.

To delve into this more, it needs to be taken to Off Topic or this thread will get locked.

This might be a stupid question, it wouldn't be my first.
Is this a problem in Canada, the cat thefts?

You ever shouldered a weapon and pointed it at someone... there, Timmy Tough Nuts? Way different than when you're 'just' BSing about it on the internet. I always loved checking range scores of guys like you, because there was always something wrong with their pop-up, never the pathetic operator. People like you are the last ones that should be opening fire in populated areas.

What the thieves are doing is terrible, but gunning them down for their epigenetic misfortune isn't an appropriate response. Stay the f**k away from my neighborhood, Timmy.

I don't think it's as rampant here as it is in the US, but it's a growing problem. It's still mainly in the larger urban shitholes like Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver and Toronto although my town of 70,000 people has had an uptick in it as well.

With all the rampant CAT theft I'm wondering if the 4 CAT's on my truck would be worth anything to anybody? My engine is blown (bad piston) and my CAT's are just hanging there until I get off my butt and rebuild the engine. I might as well go CAT-less if/when I get it done. Send a PM if you feel like offering money for the exhaust system unbolted from mine.
2007 5.7L with 196,000 miles, located in Oklahoma so I have ZERO inspections that require CAT's or even mufflers :bananadance:

These cat thieves are taking people's vehicles and rendering them useless for months. Some folks, this is all they have for getting groceries, running their kids around, and going to work. They're basically neutering people from their lives. Not only that we are all in for it when insurance rates start going up.

Now they're traveling with spotters and packing heat. Killing LEOs. As far as I'm concerned, they can get shot and good riddance.

It's funny how the immature immediately name call and claim to know everything about someone that simply stated a fact.

I don't BS about guns, and I don't know you from a zit on my ass. But your claim to know all about me is with much stupidity. You know nothing about me.

    So I'll tell you a bit ..
Actually just yesterday an "interesting fellow" decide to wander past the no trespassing signs on my property and take a look into my carport. He claimed "No Inglish" when I spoke and pointed out the signs, but he perked up quickly when he was looking at Mr. GLOCK and suddenly spoke English quite well and said sorry. I called the police and they took him away for trespassing and suspicious behavior.

Safe neighborhood = Leos and residents working together. Not "opening fire" at everyone like you claim I'm doing.

If we do nothing, they always win. I carry for protection, not to go looking for violence. I'll take my kids to the range for sport and competition, not to teach them to shoot someone. To be smart and RESPONSIBLE!

Who knows what the idiot who came on my property was doing, but I bet he won't be coming back to MY neighborhood knowing what awaits.

Good luck with your neighborhood Asshole Eddie... Stay the f@ck away from mine

So, just so I understand your thought process on this... Based on your statement, anyone who takes it upon themselves to commit a crime of this nature must clearly be a "victim" themselves; having suffered a misfortunate event or series of events during the developmental stages of their childhood ultimately altering their DNA and thus justifying their need/excuse to be a detriment to society???

Is your suggestion that we deploy a team of mental health therapists to roll under the truck, make contact with these criminals, and help them through THEIR difficult time?

Are you suggesting that maybe we, as property owners, are being selfish and taking advantage of these poor folks and should make their task easier for them; maybe even remove our own CATs ourselves and just leave them in the bed of the truck w/an apology note and a key to our front doors inviting them into our homes so we can share some of our 'privileges' w/them?

In MY opinion people like YOU are a much bigger problem than those perpetrating the crime.

Security at my work said they have been hitting our area in slc now. I started parking at the security desk now at work. What else can you do. Apparently all of the ones hit have been toyotas. The guard said on the video, it only took under 3 min from pulling up to leaving with the cats.

This is exactly why I bought and installed Valhalla's Shields. Well, this and @1lowlife and his truck being at the dealer waiting on cats for SIX MONTHS now. I don't want to go through that mess.
