Tyler does sell them, included in the purchase is the socket but you can also purchase an extra if you'd like
    https://valhallasshields.com/shop/ols/products/pentagon-security-bolts-for-rear-cat-plate-4
I purchased the "TRD PRO 8" set because I was using the Nut Plate that he also sells

Others have used SCREWD security bolts
    https://screwdsecurity.com/

McMaster also sells the Pentagon bolts that Tyler sells
    https://www.mcmaster.com/screws/pentagon-head-screws/

Just a thought, with those pentagon bolts... Can they just be removed using one of the "gator grip" sockets?

Only if the gator grip socket doesn't grenade itself in the process, which it likely will. Besides that, these thieves aren't running around with gator grip sockets, or any tools for that matter other than their battery operated sawzall.

There are WAY more cars and trucks without protective plates than there are with plates. It is just easier for them to move to the next car rather than taking 30 minutes to an hour messing around with trying to undo your bolts.

Gasoline doesn't turn to varnish. But what does happen is the ethanol in the gasoline will sit and corrode parts and pull water into the gas tank which causes further corrosion. After a long enough time, this causes serious issues.

Big reason why I'll never run e85. It's no wonder that injectors show rust within a month of an engine sitting. It'll also dry out rubber parts in a fuel system.

If I'm not mistaken the GatorGrip sockets are too big to fit within the protective dome washers that most people use, so as long as you are using those the GatorGrip sockets won't work. As for them working without the domed washers, no idea, I've never used them.

They tried mine at work too.

Does your employer have cameras, fencing, security golf cart patrol?

As far as cooling down, good luck. I have been doing any type of truck stuff late at night (still hot) and today I did it early morning.

I think he's referring to the truck itself to cooldown from driving it before working around the exhaust

OK, another member stated that gas sitting too long either turns to varnish or has the effects of varnish.
    I can't remember..

I just picked up my truck after sitting at the dealership for 8 months.
They did jump-start it and move it once a month or so.
I had 1/2 tank of regular, tossed a can of seafoam in it in May (figured it couldn't hurt), and just topped it off with premium.

Toyota gave me a new 84-month OEM battery but I asked for my 2-year old Interstate MPF-27F back.
I dropped the battery off at Interstate and they are going to test it and see if it will hold a charge.

If it does, I may have a 2 yo Interstate battery available for sale in DFW for cheap..:D

    My employer doesn't give a fu(k.
They say the parking lot is public (city) property.
95% of the parking lot is for employees, 5% is for customers at the customer counter.
    So they flake off responsibility.

But if a few guys get together after work and have a few beers in the parking lot, they will get fired.
    So much for no responsibility..

My first stop was Costco gas station since it is right next to the dealership.
I literally almost fell out of the truck when I got out.
I got so used to that short Tacoma.

Another thing that made me laugh, was looking at my tiny aftermarket HU screen after having that big 9 or 10 inch screen in the Tacoma.

I wonder how many times I'll reach for the push button start or touch the outside door handle to lock it.
Or how many times I'll forget to turn my headlights on?

I have been there 36 years, 2 or 4 more to go to retire.
There is no place I could work getting the pay, benefits, and pension I have right now.
I can stick it out for a few more years.

I'm on short-term disability right now.
Getting a portion of my pay, but I still have full health insurance.
I'm looking at back surgery at the end of August that won't cost me a dime out of pocket..
I think I'll hang around for a while..

Ok. That does sound better - a little better. After physical therapy and healing I hope that solves the pain issues for good. Back pain sucks for sure.

Guys in all seriousness which shield offers the best protection for all 4 cats .

    I've narrowed it down to
    Valhalla, Talons Garage, Miller Cats.
