What was done to defeat the shield??? Unbolted it, cut the bolt heads, cut through it, etc...??

Your particular story, if i remember correctly, was front and rear cat shields installed with standard bolts and without rock domes. The assholes that stole your cats just ground off the bolt heads, dropped the cat shields under the truck, cut the cats out, and just like that they were gone. Am I remembering that correctly? Please feel free to correct me and add additional information that you think would be helpful for someone riding the fence on getting shields.

BTW, I'm sorry that they got your truck too!

Glad to hear it! My 2014 was 5 months, sitting in Dallas on a dealer lot from December to Memorial Day weekend.

I showed up one morning to “visit” and the service advisor had my name and number on top of his desk (meaning visible when I walked in). He was calling me next to tell me the cats arrived and were being installed!

Very lucky for me since it is a six hour round trip to the dealer, and I just happened to be nearby that day!

Anyway, glad to hear yours arrived!!

No, post it here. We need more information to draw conclusions from a single story.

Lol. England is a very non-violent country with low crime for the most part. They don't have guns either.

There's an uptick in violence across the pond. It ain't all tea and crumpets with pinkies in the air haha. Besides, how you gonna sit there and just film someone ripping you off? Grab a bow and go Robin Hood on their asses.

Hey everyone. Sorry for the late reply I have been busy working lots. Valhalla shield. I guess just the front one? There was only one when I bought mine. They just unbolted it. It had whatever came with the shield for hardware. It was semi secluded and they obviously had lots of time. I am glad they did that instead of hacking up my truck to be honest.

Ah, sorry this happened to you. This is also why I mounted my cat plates with security bolts and security dome washers.

I agree with you about the thieves not doing more damage to your truck trying to get around the shields. I will say your story along with @1lowlife solidified my purchase decision. Your experience really solidified the need for the security bolts and rock domes to make it more of a deterrent for the thieves. We are all learning here!

So, what now? Thiefs are showing a sense of sophistication now. Get ready to see your cats stolen and your Valhalla shields on ebay:eek:

I mean. Stuff happens. Smile and move on. All you can do. Or you can complain endlessly on the internet. That’s a popular option too.

Seriously wish I would have seen this before leaving on Monday. Came back Wednesday and... you can guess the rest. Terminal D 6th level. No cameras. However, I did speak with a pilot who parked next to me while waiting on the cops to show. He said he was going to make this the main topic at his union meeting. How can you have a brand new parking garage with no cameras...

I think I spotted some cat thieves yesterday. Me and the fam were out yesterday afternoon at a cat theft hot spot in Katy, TX. 99 and I-10 for those that know the area. We were in a shop and my tundra was out in the back row of the strip center. I noticed a busted ram (aren’t they all busted?) back up and park one spot over. I kept an eye on it and nobody ever got out. About 10 minutes later we’re leaving and we walk out there and there are two occupants but I couldn’t really see them because of tinted windows. We got in my truck and they hauled ass out. I don’t know for sure, but seemed pretty sus. I wasn’t worried much about it anyway since my cats have already been stolen!

I got that phrase from O&A's Club Soda Kenny.
He was an NYC cop for a long time before doing security for Opie and Jimmy Norton..:D

They were in Boston for several years at WAAF before getting fired for an April Fools Day 1998 Prank whereby Hughes and Cumia announced that Boston Mayor Thomas Menino had been killed in a car accident in Florida in the company of a Haitian female prostitute.
    It is in here somewhere..

    Surely you remember that...:eek2::eek::rolleyes::cool:

    No...
I emailed my service guy yesterday and told him what is going on with my back issues.
We actually have that relationship, I've known him for 9 years.
Told him I have an imaging procedure going on Monday that requires me to lay on my back for 24 hours afterward.
Told him to go ahead and schedule me to pick the truck up early AM Wednesday.
That way I can pick it up early, come home, and put my Vahallas on that day.

I do not want to go ONE day/night without my Vahallas, even with the truck sitting in my driveway..
Since I'm off work for a while, I'll make it to my advantage to get these shields put on the day I bring it home....

I bought some nylon washers today.
Not sure why, I remember seeing it in the Vahalla thread...
I'll figure it out when I put them on..:D
