Had the Carven R catback for a couple months now and it is starting to simmer down a bit. Still very aggressive when on the throttle, but it mellows out a lot faster when idling now after warmed up. It does have a little bit of that poppy glasspack rasp when getting on it, but overall is a great sounding exhaust. The drone is there at certain rpms, but can easily be fixed with more or less throttle. As far as quality, it is a work of art with the stainless and tig welds even though it's under the truck. Very pleased for a quick off the shelf setup

Does it cause any low end torque loss?

Anytime you install a 3” tailpipe you lose low end torque. It makes the truck shift more often and it doesn’t hold gears as well.

So I installed mine yesterday. It has horrible drone. My wife especially hated it. The drone is exactly at cruising RPMS. I'm going to try a BAM resonator first and maybe the Carven TR muffler. Otherwise it's coming off and going back to stick

That's what I meant by BAM. Couldn't remember Dirty Deeds at the moment. ;)

Just waiting on a call back to see what I need for it

    Just the resonator and clamps.
Then your drill and hole saw blade.

I'm loving the sound! It's coming out of the tailpipe instead of sounding like the muffler is in the cab. So much better!

ALL of my systems are that way. Plus, they’re not a Chinese imported muffler retrofitted to multiple vehicles. We make each muffler for the individual person, not just a particular truck. And the engineering gains low end torque instead of losing it.

anybody researching which exhaust to get for your tundra, keep scrolling and use search terms BAmufflers

So many comments on the drone for the carven catback. Owned mine for years and it’s just better than the BA 8” I used to own. Not going to discredit Kieth and his products but the 8” was just too quiet and having to cut into a factory tailpipe for a resonator kinda hurt but long story short, I wanted a louder exhaust and the carven had what I was looking for. All stainless steel, mandrel bending, optional exhaust exits (dump/side). Check my review on my instagram - @proyotatype

not to argue with you. This comment is for others reading this.

We have literally 100 options for tundras. To compare the 1 offering by Carven to our quieter option is a great way to contrast those two particular systems.

anybody else whom has one of our systems, there
i don’t think it discredits me in any way. Matter of fact it’s an opportunity for me to give more info to anybody else whom stumbles across this thread.

for many, the one single offering carven and others offers for our trucks, the drone is too much. My company is known for the drone free options that I offer to everybody.

What a lot of people don’t realize is that we have a lifetime warranty which includes everything, even sound. Too loud or too quiet, simply send back the system, even though it’s already been installed, and we will send you a brand new system that is louder or quieter.

with over 100 options for a tundra, we offer more choices than all of the other manufacturers combined. So to compare ‘my system’ to the one offered by another manufacturer is a moot point. Whatever you’re comparing ‘my system’ to……. Well, I can literally build anything.

I’ll even go out on a limb, if a guy wanted a system like this carven, with a loud, raspy, drone style sound. I’ll make one for the same price. It’ll even have way better low end torque since I would properly size the tailpipe.

Any single exhaust system offered by any manufacturer, I can make the same sound without losing low end torque and while gaining power. No other manufacturer can do this. But we can, we make our systems to order for the individual, not just for the truck.

None of what I’ve said is meant to discredit, or put down any manufacturer. I respect them all. But for a tundra, I really don’t have any competition. One offering that is mediocre is about all any of the other companies offer for a tundra.

    Not enough....
Well said Keith. I appreciated your input when I was trying to build my exhaust. I wanted one of your systems, but I ended up having a local friend fabricate a single Carven muffler into my OEM exhaust. That decision was largely decided simply off costs. You're on the other side of the country, and I wanted to be able to support my friends shop..........and experiment a bit (I am scientist after all lol).

With that said, I absolutely had drone with my set up, and after installing one of your resonators , it 100% took care of that problem. Even though I didn't buy your full system, only your resonator, I love what you have done for this community and you're right, you don't really have proper competition lol.

Keep up the good work :oldglory:

    Nitrogen filled tires!
??? So the oem exhaust on the Gen3 has a 3inch tail pipe. Does this mean the Mothership intentionally designed the Gen3 to shift more often and not hold gears as well? That just sucks!

My comment was directed at gen2 tundras since they were engineered by Toyota to run a 2 3/4” tailpipe.

gen3 is engineered to run a 3” tailpipe. It makes sense that it’s bigger since gen3 is turbocharged.

    Seems like you like drone.
You should have bought a BAM 6" stock pipes or dumped.
Would have given you the loudness and rasp you wanted without the drone.
Drilling a 2" hole in a tailpipe isn't that challenging, I've done it twice.

And the best thing about @dirtydeeds
In a few years as you got older and tired of loudness, Keith would have swapped it out for an 8" or 10".
Granted you pay shipping both ways.
You're not getting that with Craven..

    Enjoy..

Not am expert here I did purchased the cat back exhaust and installed it on my 2019 Tundra CM TRD Sport and very happy with it
The sound is loud specially when flooring it some people will say that it has a drone but don't really pay attention to it. I selected carven exhaust for the price, style, and performance.
