Been there too! It’s not as bad as one might think once you get past the 3 day mark. You’re eating healthy foods and drinking a ton of water. You actually quit stinking once you get used to it

worst I done was the Scottish Highlands... I was done after 2 weeks: wet ,rainy, foggy and swampy...mosquitoes all day long just waiting on you to take a break to bite and suck your blood. They were the worst.

Man, wish I had pics of my trips on my phone. I came back once with mosquito welts all over my back. Looked like I had chicken pox.

i'm content to stick with CO. plenty here. thinking about trying to bag the collegiate peaks this summer. if i can't pull that off, i'll do a few more of the 'local' ones.

Thanks! He hated every mile we hiked carrying that 35lbs bag, but once up there he was in heaven. Took a fishing pole and he hung out by the lake most of the day.

Gotta try to do it again, now he's just turned into one of those kids that wants nothing but play fortnite. I think my youngest might be my salvation; she's up for all of this.

i'm very curious about the extension to the trail. they followed the geology of the appalachian rocks across the atlantic: a bit of greenland, scandinavia, great britain, spain and down into morocco. hiking through morocco would be pretty f'ing epic. i knew guys that went there on surf trips and have always wanted to go. plus, there's something about tangier that's been pulling me.

Set up the new tent to see how it looks and quality seems to be top notch. I really like the cross joint between the “x” of the poles.

oh it's time to start getting all the stuff out of the gear room! I have a decent (5 night) backpacking trip coming up soon and i've added some new pieces. I'm a big fan of Nemo Equipment and i've added a new sleeping pad (Tensor Ultralight), Sleeping bag (Riff 15 degree down bag) and might if i get the funds a new backpacking tent. Car camping tent is an Big Agnes 6 man and its wicked, has 2 rooms, big vestibules and fits a queen air mattress, highly recommend it.

Have an Osprey Aether AG ( i think) and its a solid bag, comfy and has some decent pockets.

I currently have some Salomon Quest 4D boots that i also really enjoy, very very comfortable and handle heavy weight on longer days.

I'll post pics of stuff once all my gear is out!
