Put 2x4s along the side to give a little buffer (like bumpers in a bowling alley) so the dollies only go north and south/not east and west.

I got an idea I have done it before jack the car up and put a jump box on the starter so ground the ground of the jumper pack to chassis and positive to the big starter cable that will juice it up so you can either remote start the car or pop the locks. Not sure if anyone suggested that didn’t read thru all the post

please use jack stands safety first

Our 2011 Camaro had a “keyhole” around the left side of the rear seat back to gain entry in the trunk of the battery dies.
The 2010 should have the same.

Forget the dollies unless the wheels are fixed to keep it from moving to the side and wedging into the wall of the container. Dish soap on the floor of the container. Find a appropriate winch (I would use a hand winch) more control with smaller movements. Drag it out .

If all else fails, cut the side wall of the container to gain access to the driver door.

I guess I don’t understand...if there’s enough room to shimmy around the side of the car in the container and get a floor jack behind it, how is there not enough room to open the door? Get a kid to squeeze in there and release the trunk from inside...

Agree. Dollies I've seen have wheels that caster, so the vehicle can be pushed sideways. That's a good plan for Camaro pinball.

Too hard to get the front dollies in position anyway. You would have to jack up the rear fairly high for access at the front, then lift each front wheel enough to place the dolly. This will be extremely dangerous when that second front wheel lifts off the floor with one dolly already placed, and that friction patch is lost. The owner should be the one under all these jacks in the air, don't be volunteering OP.

I don't think the dollies gain you anything anyway. The Camaro's front wheels will roll fine unless they're flat, but they will have to roll straight. Hopefully, the OP's wife left the steering wheel straight ahead.

Jack up the rear wheels off the ground, and pull her out. All reverse, dead slow. Have helpers watch the sides and be ready to shut it down quick if it begins to meander toward a wall.

I agree with you that dollies in the front are useless.
The owner is disabled vet so I'm the one that will be doing whatever needs to be done under and around the the car.
And yes, fortunately she locked the steering wheel straight:)

2x4s or 4x4s as mentioned as a buffer on the sides, then a jack under the rear to drag it out?

I'm confident in you especially since the steering wheel is locked straight. A few spotters if available never hurt.

This issue is not that complicated here is your starter the main terminal of the starter goes directly to either the main terminal on the alternator or battery every vehicle is wired differently but still ends up in the same place at the Battery so If you get a jumper box and put the negative clamp to chassis or engine block and put the positive cable on to the main wire on the starter that will power up the car now you will be able to unlock the car with the remote or even start it if you want It’s simple

Pull a tail light or license plate bulb and hook a battery to the wires. Now the car has power and you can unlock the trunk with a key fob. Leave it plugged in long enough and you’ll probably be able to start it. If not you can shift it to N and roll it out.

I thought about that, but unless the ignition is on, or headlight/ running light switch is on I don't think that power will back feed to the battery?

Was your Camaro a convertible? Almost positive only the convertibles came with a keyhole, not the hard tops, which makes no sense whatsoever.

As long as the jumpers dont arc or ground out and pop the fuse it should back feed 12 volts to activate the key

    Well done!

    update:
My son and I went over today and were successful in removing the Camaro out of the container.
    We arrived at about 1:30 this afternoon and got to work. KIMG0488.jpg KIMG0489.jpg KIMG0490.jpg KIMG0491.jpg KIMG0492.jpg KIMG0493.jpg KIMG0496.jpg KIMG0501.jpg
    KIMG0502.jpg
    KIMG0503.jpg
There it is, I'm not very good at documenting stuff.
What we were able to do is jack it up, place the dollies under the rear wheels and just slide it over to one side. That gave us about 10"-12" of clearance between the car door and container wall. At that point we were able use the key to unlock and open the door.
Then my son was able to slide in through the door, over the back seat, into the trunk and then was able to open it with the emergency release handle...
Trunk now open we put a new battery in and started the car.
While the car was warming up we got the ramps rigged up and stable.
Then I removed my muddy boots, crawled in through the trunk like a snake got into drivers seat and backed it out at about 3:15

I'd like thank everyone here for all your help and great suggestion. He is a happy vet, tickled pink!! He has an appointment with the va tomorrow and now he can go in his pride and joy!

Edit: no injuries or damage during all that..
He just sent me this txt. tire was a little low so I pull up to the house to put air in and didn't see a cooler!Resized_20210504_160724.jpg

There is a hidden lock for the trunk that you can use the key to open. The bad news is, its between the back seat and rear quarter panel inside the car.

Whichever engineer thought that was cute should be kicked swiftly in the nuts.

Your only real option here without breaking a window is jack up the rear, put it on dollies, carefully wheel it out. Then you can use the key to open the door (hopefully that has a lock) and work your way through to the trunk. Replace the battery and next time put an extension cord and a battery tender on it.

If your pal owns the container and has no plans of getting rid of it, he could have a welder come and fabricate a door in the side of the container (now that the car is out) so that he doesn't have people crawling through the car to get it out.

Also, he might want to put some plastic/visqueen on top of the car while it's in the container. One little hole rusting through could create a world of hurt for a car stored in a container for 6 months.

Maybe line the sides of the container with some old blankets, just in case.

That looks much easier than just putting a key slot in the trunk like cars have had for 50+ years...

    Lol oh no!
Next winter it's going in the heated garage for 8 months of storage, where it should have been stored last winter.
The Motorcycle, atv, riding mower, rototiller, snowblower, and all that kinda sh!t is going in the container.
I told him I would help, but he just didn't want to move all that stuff last fall and now he's dealing with the consequences of not taking anyone's help or advice. lol
