Not sure where I should post this. if this isn't the correct forum please let me know.
So, last summer a vietnam veteran friend of mine was able to purchase himself a 2010 camaro with a automatic transmission.
He enjoyed it all summer, then for winter storage he bought a 20' shipping container. In October he had my wife drive it in the container. She pulled it in and shut it off, crawled out the trunk, handed him the keys, he shut the container doors and locked it up for the winter.
Now here we are, it's almost May and time to get out the camaro. He opens up the container doors today and hit the button to open the trunk and the battery is dead!
The battery is in the trunk, the trunk doesn't have a key latch, only the fob. Not enough room to open any doors to pop the hood for a jump start.
The only thing I can think of, is jack up the ass end, put some casters or dollies of some kind under the rear wheels and pull it out that way.
Anybody have and genius ideas on how to charge a battery that's dead and locked up in the car?

Do the cars have a hidden truck key? I’m not too familiar with Camaros. If it doesn’t, jack the back end up and pull it out carefully

It’s not just the fob battery that’s dead by any wild chance, is it?

Talk about getting wedged between a rock and a hard place.

So can you get the drivers or passenger door open enough to get inside?

If not, this is going to cost him a side window. Break it out.

Next you will need to clean up that glass as much as you can.

Then you will need to have a skinny person Bo Duke it inside. They will have to climb in the back seat, then fold the seat down. After this they will have to crawl in the truck and pull on the manual trunk release. Now you have access do the battery.

If you’re not risk averse you can Put power to the car from the starter with a jump box. This would require you to Jack the car up from the back.

Or disconnect the transmission Linkage and roll the car out of the container.

or throw a floor Jack under the back and Jack the rear end up and pull it it out that way.

Or drag it out with a winch

Or put all 4 tires on dollies.

none of those options will be fun but they will all work.

Does the camaro have a spot to insert the key into the trunk that’s hidden like volvos and Mercedes do?

We haven't been able to find a hidden key lock anywhere

And I did think about going thru the starter with some power. He wasn't to hip on doing it that way.

Or call a tow truck. A good tow driver with a self loader should be able to drag the car out for you. A bad driver can winch it out. Depends how far into the container the car is. If it’s deep in the container you can floor Jack it to the end and then the tow driver do his thing.

you should be able to get it out with just two dollies. MAKE SURE THE castors are rotated already. then carefully pull it out. if the castors want to turn to move the car then you run the high risk of the car hitting the side of the box.

As for storage the next year, invest in a solar battery tender.. or back it in and leave the hood popped

Yes sir! He is definitely looking at doing things differently next winter. He just didn't realize that the newer vehicles continue to draw quite a bit of power when they are just setting in storage.
He just texted me and said he ordered some dollies.

depending on the health of the battery it should be started at least every month. tender is the only way to store them long term off. Or disconnect the battery

Are you hearing any clicking at all, even if faint? You could push down on the trunk to release pressure from the lock, and hit open on the remote and see if it has enough juice to actuate with the pressure off the trunk lock?

Yeah I agree with you. Long winters up here, it was locked up in the container for 8 months without being touched. Next winter will be the same. He's going to leave the trunk open and bring the battery inside with a battery tender on it next winter.
