Well I got bored and took the light bar apart. The cause of the rattle was not very difficult to find; it's the little round lenses moving in the plastic piece they mount to. They just snap in and it's a very loose fit, as you can see in the video. So, big surprise, it wasn't a "Bead of silicon from when the wire is pushed through, shaving of aluminum from when the housing is machined, dab of solder that was in there, Whatever it is it is not a mechanical thing" like Caliraised told me.

Well to be serious I’m not sure if that play would ever cause any issues at all? It’s not at risk of shorting out which is what my immediate concern would have been.

That’s how they keep moisture from accumulating- have it sealed (if you can call it that) so poorly whatever moisture gets in will dry out after a 75 mph run in dry weather.

Maybe it would, maybe it wouldn't. But that was Caliraised's position: As long as it turns on, who cares if it rattles. It has a warranty.

The whole point, which we now have video proof of, is that it's a poorly made part with loose pieces inside and not worth the price they charge for it.

Sucks to have any rattles…especially when it’s a new part. As for Caliraised wire h11 wire harnesses, my experience with the company went smoothly. Fortunately, nothing much to rattle in a two-wire harness for connecting factory fogs to after-market eliminating any splicing. Now that you’ve taken it apart, is it fixable? Would think they should offer you a 15% disassembly discount if you got them working

Probably very easy to stop the rattle.

I haven't heard from them in over a month, even after they posted on this thread. I doubt they'll be offering me anything at this point.

I "bought" (I put it in quotes as I'm beginning to doubt they'll ever show up) rock sliders in June, was quoted 4-6 weeks, and now am being told every 2 weeks that it will be 2 more weeks. Bummer, I really like these sliders/steps. Just hope they show up some day.

Took about 8-9 weeks to get mine, then another week and a half to fix the rhino lining. Totally worth the wait in my opinion. I love them. They are rock solid, look badass and the install wasnt too bad. I picked mine up and checked the hardware before i left and a couple pieces were missing. Just a word of warning to check the hardware before you begin install.

Yeah that’s why I haven’t cancelled. Really looking forward to them I imagine they have a packing list with what should be there for hardware?

I dont recall seeing the packing list, maybe because i picked up, but i just counted the hardware that was needed when i watched the install video on their site.

Must be a quality problem...I had missing hardware too. I had to "argue" with their technical person to get the hardware...it's funny shit because their video shows the parts and it differs from the parts I received.

    Agree...worth the wait.

Yep, check the parts. And, as usual, Cali's videos do not show the PITA part of this install (which is normal for them), but some things that helped me:

    1. I don't have help, so a couple of short jack stands help hold the sliders before installing them.
    2. The most difficult one to install is the driver's side (gas tank). I don't know how you work...but if you want to tackle the hard one first, do this one...if not, well, do the other side.
    3. Pull the plastic shield from the bottom of the gas tank (38 gallon, 6 bolts) and it frees up some space to maneuver hands and tools on the driver's side.
    4. After running your bolts through the frame, take your time on the clamp to ensure they are spaced, good and level before wrenching them down. I purchased some additional washers from Lowe's to get them level before tightening. I think they "bite" better on the inside rail and create an incredibly tight wedge on the rail.
    5. Buy a cheap set of crowfoot wrenches from Harbor Freight (it helped me hold the nuts on the far side). I also used a magnets to help me hold shit in sockets when hands would not fit.
    6. The only issue I encountered was the threaded nut for the brake line brackets...I stripped the damn threads and had to tap them back out to get any grip. If I recall, the hole cut in the slider didn't fit "exactly" and I F'ed up the threads before realizing it. (And, yes, I finger started them first.)
The sliders are pricey...but believe they are pretty damn robust.

Advice: make sure you remove all the plastic frame hole caps too. There was one in the very front that i forgot to take off and it took me a very long time to bore through it since there isnt much space. I couldnt get the long bolt through without doing that. Plus i have the valhallas on there and was too lazy to take those off too and that would have made it easier. I had already installed all the other hardware and there was no way i was going to take all that off to take the cap off lol.

Even with a helper, you NEED 2 jack stands with a towel in between for protection.

The one bolt in the rear behind the gas tank is pretty tough, not gonna lie. I ended up saying eff it and didnt install it. There is so much hardware on there and the sliders are so beefy, 1 bolt in the back wont matter.

The Cali technical person told me the 4th bolt on the driver's side...it was okay to leave off but damn, I wanted to get my monies worth, so I got it on. The magnets and crowfoot wrenches help.

Given the area, i do not see how they could have provided or engineered a better tool than the bracket they gave. It would be completely impossible without it but unfortunately, unless you have tiny hands and wrists, the 1% that the tool helps just isnt enough without lowering the tank. I honestly spent a good quarter of the total install time trying to get that 1 bolt in.

With the "L" bracket design that hugs the frame and the total of 10 bolts that go on these things, I have no issues leaving 1 bolt off. I would say that structural integrity wise, you could probably get away with skipping more than the 1 bolt, especially for 90% of people who wont be doing max hardcore rock surfing.

These finally shipped today! took 12 weeks, but at least they are coming. I'll give them a good inspection to see if I notice any missing hardware.
