Congratulations on the new home Michael! I'll have my wife setup a conference call with your wife on why ever man needs a bigger tv. Lol

Just a suggestion before you move in take a video or take pics of the entire house inside and out. It's great to have for insurance purposes and incase you have any warranty claims with builder down the road. Then you will have documentation of what was existing when you took ownership. Plus it's only brand new once. Glad your family is able to enjoy your home before New Years!

Congrats to you and your family Mike. I agree on the TV. Definitely need to upgrade to that 65" Oled with the Harmon Kardon sound system. You have 3 days before Game ,hahaha.

Looks great, congrats! Just bought our first home last year but when it comes time to move I'm hoping we can build.

Michael a few more things I thought about to help with your home in the future. Make sure your builder has given you something in writing with the date of completion of your home for the start of your home warranty. You also may want to make a folder with any manuals like appliances, air conditioning, hot water heater and things like that. Plus make sure and ask your builder for the paint colors and type of paint if you don't already have them. This is very handy if you need to do any touch ups in the future. Make sure and save a full set of house plans somewhere or on a PDF file. This is important if you ever want to do an additon or remodel in the future. I hope this info helps you out.

One more thing. If your plans don't show the location of underground things like power & septic or sewer then ask the builder to draw the locations on the site plans. Incase you decide to add something like a pool or additional concrete you will already know the locations prior.

Thanks! I'm a home builder and I've been in construction since 15 so I've been around a job site or two. Lol

I couldn't agree more on the folder for appliance manuals, warranties, etc.

My wife and I built our house two years ago and she made a file with all of this. You wouldn't believe how often you need to refer to these things even with brand new stuff. Its really a nice thing knowing exactly where they are when you need them.

Starting some projects I told the wife I would do instead of paying to have it done. Today and tomorrow are all about the back splash.

That seafoam green color is the color of my 14yo daughter's room. We let her pick the color (she matched the color of one of her converse shoes...girls) and were quite surprised at how bright it is on the walls...whatever, I wasn't painting it again, it's her room. Haha

Just a suggestion. Home Depot offers an app that allows you to take a photo and change the colors of walls, cabinets, doors and anything else in the picture to the color you want. Then your wife can look at the colors she is thinking of before you do it again.
