That's about how long my drive way is. I used a type of ABC stone called n-rock. Its the same as ABC but i beleive it has a little more dust to it. Its cheaper and you will never know the difference. For me the dust once rained on is all gone and i haven't had and dust clouds from driving on them. Some of the equipment had some small oil leaks and i made a drag to go behind my 4wheeler blend it in and a little oil on the rock will keep dust down for a long time. Some state roads have a special spray like this just for that reason. Feel free to contact me for any question you may have. I used 3 truck loads of the n-rock with one load of larger stone as a base on some soft areas. Having the driveway real close go grade in the beginning alowed all the big trucks to pack the ground hard brfore i added the rock. I will wait a year and let it all pack and then do 3 more loads and that should last for many many years.

I'm not sure what tonnage but the house is 2314 square feet with a 400 square foot bonus room over the garage. My guess would be between a 4 to 5 ton. And no not doing a dehumidifier, completely out of $. Building a house is EXPENSIVE!

I started with what I thought was plenty of money to do upgrades or for those unforeseen costs but it is so easy for the spending to get out of hand. All the "oh yeah I want that" and "oh gotta have this". I was VERY happy that I only had to pay the builder an extra $1600 for kitchen cabinets. But the wife is happy now and my last big overage (please be the last overage) will be getting the biggest concrete pad outside the garage I can afford.

Congrats on the new house. Lots of sleepless nights but lots of excitement as well. We learned the over the budget thingy about 3 years ago. Planned to have all bricks house but when builder said it will be an extra of $25k because the geothermal system took a big chunk of your budget. We then agreed to have brick for the front and vinyl sidings for the other 3 sides. Well, I hate the vinyl so much I ripped it out and replaced with fiber cement boards 18 months later...that's $12k unplanned.

Also, I wanted a 150-200 ft driveway but with $4/Sq ft of concrete I almost passed out when he told me the total cost.

I heard that 15-25% over budget is the norm for custom built homes.

Looking good man. And I did the same thing, its very easy to do. At some point we had to traid or save on one thing to get another. Still ended up spending thousands more then i thought it would be. Honestly I felt I irresponsible for spending so much. If you can try and keep some extra for the wife. She will want some new things or decoration when she moves in.
The place is looking really nice, many years from now you will look back at all the joys.

Don't have a for real one yet but the contract says December 16. I have my apartment until January 1st so it has to be done before then. I'm thinking it will be late November early December.

The house is looking amazing. I hope someday to get my dream home that would similar to this. Nice plot of land with trees all around, isolated from neighbors. 3-4 car detached garage or atleast one like yours that doest have rooms above.
