Hey guys, a little concerned over here...

I just had my Bilstein 5100's installed on the middle setting, and my front is probably 2" higher than the rear now. What gives? Any ideas? Anybody else had this issue thus far?

Did you install 5100's in the rear as well?

That definitely does not sound right. You should be sitting with a little rake still. Mine are on top setting and I sit level with the rears.

Right? My thoughts exactly. I checked the clips visually, and it is on the middle clip. There is one clip shown below it, which would be the bottom. Correct?

I did order the parts off of Amazon, I know, I know, but I have Prime and am impatient. I cross checked the part number from my Amazon order, 24-232173, opened the box and looked at the instructions, and middle was supposed to provide 1.6" of lift. I double checked the part number on Bilstein's website, it is also 24-232173.

My truck only has 600 miles on it, but I cannot imagine that the springs are going to settle two whole inches....

Not sure. Even if it was on the wrong setting lower or higher it should not be higher than the rear :notsure:

Brandon did you do the install or have it done ? Make sure the spring seat that holds the coil and sits on top of the clip was not installed upside down. This can cause a huge problem and needs to be changed NOW. When I had the 5100 fronts at top setting I still had a slight rake (lower in front) You definitely have something installed wrong.

SOOOOOOOOO scary that shops don't read the directions and follow step by step. I would get it back to the shop ASAP. That spring could let go and cause major damage. So sorry you have to go through this when you pay good money for a pro to do the work. Good luck.....

Yeah, that's the plan. Fortunately I'm going out of town this weekend and my buddy is driving. You better believe that they are going to have my truck back in on their lift first thing Monday morning to fix this. Aaaand they'll be putting it on the top setting this time, because you said you still have some slight rake :)

sub'd since I cant decide between middle or top setting. Fortunately I have a lot of time to decide since it will be a while before I'm able to do this mod.

I'll throw up pictures Monday of mine at top setting, although that's probably the most common height for them. I've heard that top setting is effectively level, with a touch of rake, and middle is about 1/2" - 3/4" of rake.

Here you go fellas. Front is 1/8" lower than the rear at top setting. Perfect.

Fucking shop still can't get my alignment correct though....

I'd go with the top cuz you can't change it yourself unless you have a spring compressor stand. you just have to order it the way you want them. If you get the front too high just add an Ad a leave, shackle or air bags.

    Pics didn't work
Is the alignment problem because they are on the top setting?

No, the shop is saying that alignment is all great and good to go, but the fucker pulls right.

Maybe I will go with the top setting whenI finally can do this. As long as it's not putting undue strain on anything and will last a long time. If I want to raise the rear a little bit to keep the rake I'll figure out something.

Hi all. Going with the 5100s all around, at top setting on the front . . . and 1" block in the back just keep a slight rake.

After driving around my new '18 stock . . . I've fallen in love with the smooth and quiet ride. For those that have done the 5100 install . . . I assume the ride would remain nice, maybe better? Just wondering if the top setting causes less movement and hence a stiffer ride. Thoughts?

Also, I've live the BFG KO2 and Duratrac life, and I am leaning toward keeping a quieter tire on this build . . . has anybody seen or had a nice setup tire wise that would maybe only take me up a bit from stock, while also keeping the smooth ride?

    Thanks everyone.

True, but the descriptive text on some web sites is misleading.

"Multiple snap-ring grooves in the shock body allow for different spring seat positions, providing 0" to 2.5" of front end lift, depending on application."

Did you get this in alignment @BeachyTundra? I was under the assumption 2in of lift wasn't that hard to align with the stock UCAs.
