Finally got around to fitting my EBay find Fox 34. This bike uses non Boost spacing and 27.5, so not exactly a common fork. Can’t wait to try it out.

Also picked this up from FB market over the weekend. Giant Talon 2, entry level but decent components. Microshift Advent 9, Chester pedals, Topeak ninja bottle cage with multi tool. It needs a little cleaning and a tune up, but should be a nice backup and bike path ride.

Love that color on the Polygon!

I still have my 2017 Giant Talon 2. I like to take it out every so often to remind myself of the old days of how EASY it is to bunny hop a seemingly weightless bike lol. Before that I road a Cannondale F1000 for 16 years before it finally bit the dust in 2013. The thing weighed 18 lbs stock.

I'm new getting into MTB's. I was looking at a Giant Talon 2 on FB 27.5 for $200. Seller says everything is fine, just needs front brake fluid. Waiting to hear back for more pictures. Thoughts on that bike?

Solid and basic beginner bike. It’s nothing spectacular but a great starter bike if it’s spec’d the same as mine. Hydraulic brakes, Microshift Advent 1x9 drivetrain, cheap coil fork with a lockout. It handles my local single track well, but I’m in south Mississippi so nothing too advanced.

Just make sure everything is tight and smooth and not beat up and rusty. Otherwise you could end up spending more than you paid for repair.

Thanks! yeah the pictures are slightly better than flip phone quality. I'm waiting for clear ones up close. It's about an hour drive so I don't want to waste my time going out to look at garbage.

Grabbed a Trek Marlin 6 over the weekend to wade into the MTB world. I have plenty of experience with BMX, but this is all new territory for me. I’m excited to get this thing on a trail!

I am an old BMX guy too, I wish I would have gone with a hard tail. I went with a dj style full suspension, Transition Triple and added a derailleur. It is fun but I would have preferred a hardtail in 27.5 inch

Last summer, son bought and paid off his Santa Cruz 5010. Earlier this month we went to Utah, and he picked up a downhill bike in Salt Lake (we also met @r1-superstar ). The next day it was being put to use.

    Nice!
I just picked up a used Marlin 6 two weekends ago. Haven't had it out on the trail yet but I'm excited!

Not a new bike day, but a new suspension day. Broke my Fox 36 and needed an upgrade. Just decided to do both fork and shock. Got it all together last night and can’t wait to ride. Unfortunately knee injections today are gonna put riding off for a day or two to test it out.

Thanks, I hope so. This hobby is not cheap. Same with our trucks though I suppose. Came from a RS 35 silver that was stock so it's a pretty dramatic upgrade.

Man. I didn't realize how lacking my Fox suspension was. The steering is so precise now. Feels like a 38. Could be setup could be 3 years newer technology. Either way this is a completely different bike now. IMG_2359.jpg

Got the new wheels/hubs mounted with new rubber. Wheels are noticeably stiffer than the old Arc 27s. Also liked the Dissector more than the DHR II for current conditions.

Had time to do some major cleanup and maintenance while it was down. Hopefully it will get plenty of use before smoke season starts in the Sierras.
