Has anyone tried to seat the bead of a tubeless bike tire with an onboard air compressor? Do you need to have an extra tank to make that work? I'm seen a viair mounted under the hood on a first gen in that big passenger side cavity by the ABS module, but where do folks typically mount the extra tank? I'm thinking this might be a fun truck upgrade for our mtb road trips.

I've heard it is pretty difficult and not recommended but I haven't tried myself. I used the airshot tank and it worked great.

Today's the day. 15 yr old has saved up 75% of the cost of his bike (in 1 summer). He just called me to say the shop received the wrap from the UK yesterday, the build was completed this morning and he had cash to go pick it up.

So today he is in MN, tomorrow afternoon he will be being dropped off in Montana for a week (visiting his sister) to do some mtn biking before I follow up with the dirt bikes and pick him up a week from Friday.

So glad he waited to get measured for his frame instead of buying the large. He needed the XL even though the specs said he should be in a large.

He was beating the crap out of his Specialized XC, so this will be a great change. He is stoked:

I use a little pot-belly air compressor that I typically use for running small finish nail guns. I usually take out the valve core and fill up the tire to seat em. I've also seen videos of people mounting tires with a typical floor pump. So, I'd assume that an onboard compressor could probably get your tires seated. See if you could test an onboard compressor to try and seat a tire.

I used to seat it by regular hand pump.

I ride carbon 29 and 27.5. After the ride I always come back to this. This bike teaches me the basic and foundation of riding technique. Can't live without this.

Nice! Love to see a Tundra hauling MTBs.

I've also been looking for a 4 bike carrier. Which one do you have, and does it lock the bikes? Also, do you know the weight capacity is for each bike?

Is it just me? But is the 35mm bar just marketing BS? I guess its better for serious free riding or DH. Way to stiff for not that much more precision. I had an unfortunate incident in which I needed to get new bars. I purchased a PNW 31.8 bar and stem. The small bump sensitivity was much better than the 35 aluminum but also the carbon 35. A hair of precision was lost but not enough to ever go back…

I actually like the 35mm carbon I got from OneUp. Feels better than the previous 31.8.

I had the the Renthal Carbon 35’s which was hands down better than the aluminum factory 35’s bars that came stock. The vibration dampening was great but I was not about to drop another 150 bucks for the oneUps which I heard are great. My new PNW bars don’t feel as good in the dampening department department but I prefer the softer feel/flex…. And I was able to get a new stem and handlebar for much cheaper than one carbon bar.

I have Renthal Carbon Fat Bars on 2 bikes. Both are 35mm rise and 800mm wide. The one on the Full Stache is 31.8 and the one on the Enduro is 35mm. Completely different bikes but I can’t tell the difference.

I still enjoy taking my hard tail out on the local fire roads/flow trails by my house. Nothing like flying through everything on a ~20 lb. MTB. My first MTB years ago was a Cannondale F-1000 HT, which weighed in at 18 lbs. I miss that thing!

Nothing fancy, it's a Giant Stance e+ 1. I really wanted a Specialized Levo, but they're hard to get and I got tired of the wait. My local bike shop had the Stance, so I test rode one and loved it and also loved the color, so I took one home.

Don't mind the reflectors, this pic was fresh after bringing it home for the first time and I hadn't done anything to it yet.

It's the KUAT. You buy the two bike rack and the two bike add-on. Not sure what weight rating it is and they have a new version out now anyway. Looks more robust.
