I like my 6D mtb helmet. I have the 6D moto helmet and like it a lot (why I got the mtb helmet). I had a pretty bad concussion that I needed a helo ride for on my mx bike a while back, once I saw the technology in 6D I was sold. I don't mess around with helmets anymore, one thing I don't care about the cost of now.

I'm leaning against the fork mount as well. If the bike was linear ok. But I have to kick the rear at least 30° to close the gate. I might need to go over bed or modify a tire mount.

My needs aren't trivial. I just keep getting cheap Google and Amazon parts.

Rocky Mounts in the rail. Velcro the tires together at an angle so the hard parts don’t rub

What front bed rail do you have? Does removing the front wheel make enough room to be linear?

Found a smoking deal on this Retrax cover with the the rail system. Huge upgrade from my cobbled together rack I had. 20210313_183700.jpg 20210313_183717.jpg

How much weight can those covers hold?

RetraxONE is rated for 250 pounds of evenly distributed weight on top of the cover when fully closed.
RetraxPRO is rated for 500 pounds of evenly distributed weight on top of the cover when fully closed.

After reading more posts, I don't think I belong in this sub-forum. LOL I'm not nearly as advanced enough.

@Skey44 I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or annoyed. Thanks for the input and help.

I’m just full of chatter and like to help if I can. Have a long history of racing and working in bike shops before I became an RN and now single dad. Not annoyed just gonna state my opinion and I’m ok if I’m wrong. Oh it’s shred season, got to ride in Pisgah last weekend. Ready to just pound some roots, holes, and rocks :)
After my 12 hr shift tomorrow of course.

Hey Skey, if you visit Pisgah much, can you share where someone can park for several days without getting a ticket or worse? I plan to do some bikepacking there and will be touring for 4-5 days. TIA.

I think you’d be ok at the Hub in brevard or even the Walmart. If you’re talking ranger district (brevard area) Pisgah forest is non contiguous so it really depends on the district. X

    @Skey44

won’t even use minion dhf anymore after assegai -grippiest all around tire I’ve run yet. A little slow on the back though. I didn’t like the aggressor after wearing one out. I felt like I was sliding all over the place the whole time I owned it and never understood the hype. Dissector was much better grip and still rolls well and will be on when I wear out rear assegai now that dissector is available in exo plus. I tried dissector a couple tires ago and loved it but punctured too easy when only available in regular exo. Dhr2 is my favorite grippy rear tire but wears out quick and like the rolling upgrade with dissector. A Lot of vert on most Colorado climbs:goingcrazy:. Either is very good.

I strongly considered the Assegai (had both in my hands at the counter deciding) and I’m sure there are times when I really would use its grip. But I ride a lot of non-technical riding between my technical rides and I was just afraid the quarter of a pound and grip would slow down my fun trail bike. I’ve done pretty solid riding on the DHF in the past (not so solid these days, it’s not the equipment). When I get to the technical it won’t be the DHF holding me back. Looks like an amazing tire for all out grip though. No doubt.
Also my friend had a pretty bad experience with the dissector wore it out very fast. Loved it for a handful of rides and then it was toast. And yup the aggressor is slippy but it’s also light fast and fairly durable. If you come from running the racing Ralph and the ikon it’s an all out beast! I’ll put it back on for the rear tire and my summer riding in the south east.

You can’t go wrong with dhf one of the best ever- it’s all I ran on front for 10 years. I don’t notice assegai weight or roll on the front but I do ride technical terrain a lot. I guess I didn’t have my dissector long enough to gauge wear so I’ll find out next go round.

85F8DF37-B472-470F-8F72-1A5241AD2776.jpg Still blown away I got this 12 ride 2020 demo bike for 33 percent off retail at the height of covid. I’ve been riding her ragged through the southeast muddy spring and she’s still performing. Need to take apart the linkage, maintain suspension, and tune the suspension. But with weather like this it’s hard to put her down :)
Wheels, handlebar, gx rear derailleur (nx parallelogram was apparently skewed) and pedals only things I’ve added so far.

good deal ! SC is increasing bikes cost by about 8 to 10% for 2022 MY.
Pretty much the whole industry is increasing prices.
Glad I got my SC last year with almost no wait and at the price I wanted
