You guys on road bikes are insane! I wouldn't ride a road bike because all the crazy drivers on the road. Kudos to you brave men. I'll stick to dirt. Lol

Bit of a throwback, but just picked up this Cannondale R1000. In its day, early 2000s, she was supposed to be a beast. Ultegra all over.

I rode one of these a few years back, it was my winter bike. I sold it on when I upgraded my MTB. It was a sweet ride, but a tad stiff (aluminum frame).

Awesome. I unintentionally destroyed a bunch of PR's. Sooo much stiffer and comfortable than my old bike. I went out on another ride today, but it was 115 degrees so I had to take it really easy.

None with my tundra but this is my Roubaix. Very nice bike. Previous roadie was a trek 1.1.

When I was working in Colorado, my bike basically lived with my Tundra....
    Few pics
I love tailgate pads. Simple, cheap, secure. For My Wifes Jeep we have a 1Up Rack. 1Up is easily the best racks on the market.

Never been clever with these 'hang over the tailgate pads'...kinda ghetto to me.....
Had a Thule hitch carrier for years and I cannot imagine anything better?

    IMG_1423.jpg

and then, super high dollar carbon no likee being hung over whatever...give them the support they need!

Why spend all that money on a hitch carrier when you have a perfectly good truck bed?! I love the tailgate pads. Easy, fast and secure. Oh did I mention that I can fit up 5 bikes with the pad too?

Just saw your last comment.. so hanging the bike over the tailgate is more stressful on the bike than you sitting on it?

Yeah my Enduro has seen over 4000 miles on the tail gate of my truck. No issues. And my new Carbon Yeti 5.5 will be hanging on the same pad for its life as well. And if you think a any hitch rack is nicer then a 1up rack you really need to try a 1up rack.

OK, opinions are just that, opinions.
I have a OEM bedcover which stays on 99% of the time and the bed stays locked..Thule is my best and easist option, secure and lockable too and I can lock the bikes onto the carrier too.
    WORKS for me folks

I can see both sides. There is no way I'd put really high modulous carbon that they use in high end road bikes in anything but a rack. That stuff is like glass. Really expensive glass.
For mountain bikes, I can see how the tailgate pad would be easy and convenient.

4 bottles over 20 road miles is a LOT. Watch your HR as heat can really elevate it.

I didn't let it go over 165. I'm newish to cycling but I consider myself in pretty good shape. My resting heart rate hovers around 39-41 normally.
