One.of mines is Echo I like it, it works okay, but there are other weed eaters out there that work way better you know. I recently read on trimthatweed.com and they recommended some pretty sick weed eaters. I mean, the exclusive trimmer line lasts longer than any weed eater I've used before. Besides, the price was okay, not too pricey. I'm ordering another two of these weed eater heads. The more the better, right? lol

Stihl fan here. Used to get husqvarna from regular stores. They didn’t last. So far Stihl chainsaws and the Kombi thing have been great. I think the key is non-ethanol fuel. It doesn’t degrade as fast. I drive 20 miles to the only place locally to fill up fuel jugs. That’s all I run through the riding mower too.

I just ditched my EGO battery tools for the Stihl Kombi system and am loving it. Glad to be back on gas. I use the Stihl Motomix to avoid ethanol... which they say can be left in the units for something like a year, and has a 2 year shelf life in the cans.

Have a four year old Echo SRM 225. For the 200 I gave for it I have Zero regrets, always starts when it should and the speed feed head makes adding string a breeze. Also, I take care of my stuff and use ethanol free gas and winterize it every year by dumping the gas and running whatevers left through it. Then when the season starts again run a tank of the the expensive Tru fuel through it.

Bought my Shindaiwa in 1997 and it still runs strong, the only thing I have replaced is the speed feed head

I've been served well by Echo TRIMMERS. I didn't realize "Weed Eater" is still in business.

    Too many, but not enough....
Homelite 26cc for me. Bought it like 7 years ago on sale for around 60 bucks. Upgraded the spark plug and put a fuel filter on it. It's a champ.

Springtime folks, need a new trimmer and tired of garbage. Thinking on the Stihl KM 94R, it's their Kombi line with multiple attachments.

I have the km 91 and love it. Blower, tiller, pole chainsaw, line trimmer and hedge trimmer attachments. Thing is very useful. I’ve had it for about 3 years now, zero issues.

I'm on my second Echo SRM 225 Trimmer in 20 years...only because I gave the first one to my Son, or I'd probably still have it!:D If you want to keep these tools running like they should, get away from corn and use ethanol free gas.

Stihl is a solid choice The only issue I've herd with Stihl is the carburetors mess up once in awhile and have to be replaced
:anonymous: Have you looked into electric?

I have had two gas powered echos in the past and got tired of messing with the carbs and adjustments every year. I went with a ryobi to match my 18v tools and couldn’t be easier, maintenance free and effective to use. If you have a huge property it might not be for you, but I switched to ryobi blower, edger, trimmer, hedgers, etc and it’s soooooooo much easier

Neighbors carburetors "mess up" every year on their trimmers too. Ethanol free gas fixed my "carburetor issues" for the past decade. Same trimmer, same carburetor....it's our choice.

Stihl or Echo and make sure you winterize them at the end of the season by running them till the tank is empty, removing the spark plug, put a little oil in the cylinder and pull the cord a couple of times then replace the spark plug. Top off with fresh fuel/oil in the spring and you should be golden.

I've been using a Stihl 130 w/ bike handle and harness on 3 acres for the last 9 years. It's been a great weed whacker. I mix with non-ethanol premium, run tank until empty before winter and have had zero issues. Current version is the Stihl 131.

I’ve been using the Echo PAS-225 for the last 8 years. Although very reliable, I find it underpowered for all the attachments. Get the 25.4cc model vs 21.2cc if you go down that line.

I only use ethanol free on my small 2 cycle stuff. Ethanol will eat up the small lines on the carbs. Even the lines you can buy that claim to be ethanol resistant.

I have a Husqvarna weed eater. Runs good and always starts.

Everyone’s been talking about which kind of weed trimmer that they like but I think it’s also important in what kind of string that you use, I use .095 thick string with 5 edges and I’ve never looked back, cuts anything in front of it like butter, I have a straight shaft gas stihl and absolutely love it

Straight shaft is the only way to go. Curved ones don't last as long.
