I have the first gen Rago brackets with some cheap lights (that suck). The new Rago brackets are powder coated stainless steel and come in standard height or low profile.
All are bolt on with no trimming required.

My rago brackets, Baja Squadrons and switch come today. Anyone have a good write up on wiring these to a stand alone switch? All the ones I’m reading talk about harnesses being too short, experimenting with what wire to splice the switch into, etc. anyone just have a solid write up with what parts i need and a diagram to actually wire this up right the first time?

    So here are my questions.

    1. Where do you run the wiring from the pod under the hood? Does not seem like much length to the end of the connector.

    2. Am I crazy or is the splitter not even close to long enough? Do I have to cut and extend?

    3. How close to the edge of the hood do I shift the bracket...where I have them now I would need to trim the rubber cover that it hits when is closed. I’m thinking I should move it closer to the edge of the hood.

    4. Pics of the wiring and Ditch light switch I have. Any good instructions? Any extra parts I need to wire this up?

I have a switch pro so length of the wiring was not an issue for me. That being said, you should have plenty of room for wiring. I ran my wiring right near the hood hinge (zip typing it out of the way) and then connected the wiring near the firewall.....I believe near the brake cylinder. It's completely up to you how far in or out you want the lights on the mounting bracket.

A38ECBBA-9A87-41B1-9BF9-8E83F6ADF4E3.jpg The switch I got appears to be a little taller and skinnier than the spit I planned on using. I guess I need to figure out how to get from the hood into the engine bay . Wiring I’m guessing needs a relay added. The splitter wire needs to be cut and extended. Not sure where it is supposed to be routed.15B1D319-D08F-4283-AEBF-548BA6EE5A51.jpgAF9CA7BC-22F1-4CA8-95C0-9FC21062CCB5.jpg

Everything you need comes with the lights. A portion of the wire will double back on itself in the engine bay, but there is enough to run all of the wiring. I just ran some Baja Designs lights from my bumper and that's a further run. I'll try and get pics later, unless someone else responds first

Actually.....I just searched this in the threads(I have rigid lights for ditch lights) and I came across BD saying an extension is needed for their ditch lights which doesn't make sense, but there it is. Most of your questions have already been asked and answered if you search for them at the top of the screen and tap the magnifying glass. While your at it, I'd purchase some wire loom to protect your wiring when you do the install

Can I get someone to snap a pic of what the wire routing looks like under the hood to the pods? Im going to combine a caliraised harness with the connectors from the bajas. Did everyone run wiring up each hinge to the lights or just one side and run through the actual hood cavity?

The wire for the driver side light is attached to the bracket with zip ties and connects to one leg of the splitter. The other leg goes through the hood to the passenger side and then up to the other light.

Your BD switch Now has a main power, accessory, and a ground so. Use a meter find which two are positive. Then connect
    Your
Main power to green, accessory to one of the red leads should be the one under the green lead, ground to black, and the last res lead connects to your illumination which I tapped the stock switch next to where mine was going it’s the blue wire on your stock switches.
