Another vote for the Black Armour. Super thick and heavy. Fits the bed perfectly around all the spacers molded into the side. I have the 6.5 foot bed and I'd say the mat weighs close to 100 pounds.

I called my dealer to price oem and he said $180. I told him I found it with free shipping from another dealership and on sale for $132 so I’d just order it. He said no need that he had already ordered it and was putting it in for free. Said he was glad to do it because I had been easy to work with waiting on my truck.

Nice. That is awesome. I should ask. Mine sat at the factory from its build date of 4/29 until 7/27 when it finally got on a train… seems like a bed mat is the least they could do…

Anyone have a good and proven may recommendation for the tailgate? I'm starting to get the old man knees and could use comfort against the ridges

I got the black armour one and really like it. It is pretty heavy, and really thick and the cuts work out nice. For reference if you need to punch a hole in it (say for a tonneau cover drainline) the manufacturer suggests using a hole saw, though I'm going to try with a hammer punch first. 87D8C78B-4018-4CBB-9983-46DC6CFF076E_1_105_c.jpg the

I'm ordering one now. I owned an 05 Tacoma with the composite bed, I loved it. Having said that I was always careful about not dropping heavy items on the bed. Right now black armour is offering 25 to 50 percent off everything with free shipping. $217.49 with free shipping is what they cost right now. Thanks to you and others for the tip.

I have the Black Armour bed mat and am very pleased with it. The fit is great. The only gripe is that it took months for it to stop off-gassing.

I think that's a good plan. The off-gassing is well worth it based on the quality of the mat. Also, it's possible that I was experiencing so much off-gassing because I bought mine at time when the mats were basically going right out the door after being cut. As a result, I probably got worse case scenario for off-gassing. I'd be curious if more recent purchasers have the same issue.

Black Armour is $217.49 free shipping or OEM is $174.25 and free shipping or I pick up at dealer when I pick my truck up. Decisions, decisions. I decided to go with the Black Armour. I think either one would be a good decision, so I went with the heavier mat.

My Black Armour still smells after 3 months, but I kind of like the smell. It's super thick and fits much better than any other mat I have had. I even spilled some diesel on the mat but the bed still smells like rubber.

I just installed my Black Armour bed mat and fortunately I read many post before making a choice. Everything fit like a glove. I ordered it Tuesday at 4:30 pm and it arrived today just after noon on Friday via FedEx out of Kansas. It does have a slight odor but not concerned as you said this will go away. I assume the odor is from it being vulcanized vs glued.

Dumb question but is this really needed with the OEM spray on bedliner? Truck came with it and couldn’t be deleted from the order so debating if I need the mat any more

Not a dumb question in my opinion. A lot of people like them because they do a better job of preventing things from sliding around. I have both because I’m getting a slide in camper and the bed mat acts as a dampener increasing the longevity of the camper.

I also know that I curse when I climb up on the tailgate portion with my old knees but when I hit the bed with the black armor I appreciate it every time. Glad I went with Black Armor over OEM, don't think you can even compare the two. Thick, nothing moves. Getting used to the smell it's not that bad. Don't regret the purchase. Maybe even a few extra pounds in the back for winter driving, can't hurt. Lots of snow came down here today....what a place.

Appreciate the insight. Trying to stay on budget this month but will see about adding the mat once I save up a little. Looks like Serra Toyota comes through again with the best oem pricing!

I’ve had the black armor for a couple months now and it’s held up well. I’ve pushed and dragged pallets across it and it handles them just fine.

Yes, needed even with a spray in bedliner. I bought the OEM online and picked up at the dealership for $130.

BTW, has your factory spray in bedliner started peeling yet? My SR5 came with a factory spray in and it was compromised within the first 2 weeks of ownership! You can literally start peeling it back with your fingernails where it ends at the tailgate. I had Toyota warranty it and it was completely removed/peeled out and a new one sprayed in from a local Line X dealer. Line X = WAY BETTER. Toyota should NOT be in the bedliner business, period!20220701_125255.jpg
