Some photos from Tundras to Sedona 2018 was a fun trip but it sure went by fast! Next year I’m going for a whole week!

Awesome rig man! Would there be any sort of chance on purchasing a set of those hood bulge brackets from you? :) I was looking at that same bar, 30”?

Thanks man! The light bar in my hood budge is a 38”. Unfortunately I do not have any of my own fab tools at home. I work in a fab shop and the boss man doesn’t want me using the shop and his tools for other people. I hope you understand and I would be more than happy to help you out and make some of those brackets if it were possible. Maybe your local fab shop can make some real quick since they where pretty simple to bend up.
SDHQ makes a hood budge mount kit. It’s made for the Baja Designs 40” s8 but it might work with the 38”.

Dang, yea I saw those brackets by SDHQ, would you mind shooting a pic on where you mounted the light and how tall the brackets are? Fantastic job on the rig so far by the way!

Nice ride buddy, May I ask: How did you go about painting your chrome? I'm looking to de-chrome but none of the shops around me seem to want to touch them with paint....? PM me if need be, I wil patiently stand by.

Hey Mike! So it’s a wierd story but I had a friend who knew some guys a a body shop. They quoted me like $980 total. That was a little high for me so my friend asked the guys if they wanted to do it cheaper after hours for less.. one of the guys did it. So I gave my bumpers and grille to my friend and he dropped it off to that guy. I have no idea what he did to achieve the color match but it came out great!

Also look into getting it wrapped. Ppl are having good results with that! Also a few doing powdercoat for much cheaper but comes down to what color you have since they don’t do color match powdercoat from what I understand.
Hope that helps ya. Good luck!

I have a shop lined up that's going to paint them. I won't know the prep process either!

How are you liking your Switch-Pro? Do you use the 9100's app much? Any personal experience with SPod? I am leaning towards Switch-Pro 9100 with a console shifter mount from SDHQ but not sure. I spy a auxiliary fuse box mount on top of your factory fuse box, any info on this?

SO i haven't updated this build in a while. so going to add a few things that have changed in the past year or so.
    ARB Twin air compressor mount
I previously had the ARB single and was making a single mount for sale. Due to the high demand for the twin compressor i redesigned and made a mount strong enough for the larger twin compressor. These mounts are still available for purchase. More info for the Twin Compressor in this other thread i created a while ago.

    KING Shock rebuild
600lb springs were sagging and the springs were coil binding. I decided to switch to the 700lb springs to have same lift with less preload adjustment. I still kept my Coachbuilder shims. (2 driver 1 Pass)
Since i had the shocks off i pulled them apart and changed the oil and stiffened up some of the valving shims.
40,000 miles on these shocks and the oil was really bad! very easy to change the oil.
Added the Total Chaos Spindle gusset while i was doing everything.

    DUROBUMPS Bumpstops
Switched my Wheelers offroad superbumps over to the Durobumps. Big difference when suspension is at full bump. Highly recommend upgrading the factory bumpstops if your doing any kind of offroad!

Do the larger stops limit or affect the motion of travel?

Also when you installed your king shocks all around, was your truck all stock at the time? I plan on running kings but want my truck to be all stock.

Oh ya I haven’t updated that yet also! I switched to the BFG KM3 tires. I freakin love them. Seriously work very well on all types of terrain. Not that loud on the highway as well. Definitely recommend the tire for performance. They are wearing down pretty fast but I also have done a ton of offroad and abuse since I got them.

The aftermarket Bumpstops do not affect travel at all. They are a progressive rubber compound so it will actually fully compress down to the stock mount if it were hit hard enough. But by that time it’s already slowed down the force.
Second yes my truck was fully stock when I installed the King’s. Even the UCA was stock. Drove like that for a while. Adding the Camburg UCA gained a lot of caster and it drives smoother now with they UCA but you should have no problem with stock setup. Any big coilover are way nice over stock shock.

I now have 7 threads drivers side along with 2 coachbuilder shims. Pass side I’m at 6ish with 1 shim. Sits pretty level now. I started out with zero preload and it rode very nice but sat down little low. Few turns stiffer it handles much nicer. Also I removed the front swaybar and that’s amazing when offroad. Huge improvement without the swaybar. But towing is a bit sketchy without it. I’ve since then added the swaybar back on since I am doing more towing than offroading with the truck.

Hey Kris! Unfortunately I don’t have a website or a specific part number. I am just building these in my garage per order as a custom sale. If you would like to purchase a mount I can send you further info via PM.
Also I can second that Escondido isn’t very special of a place haha. I have family in CO and it’s absolutely a beautiful place. With my work being in offroad fabrication and Baja racing SoCal is the prime spot for the offroad community.

My first VW Baja was the first ever car .and it was no date car. Mom and Pops were happy about that. Let me see . King pin front end. turned up 1/4 in full roll 1600 duals with vw bus boxes to go faster on the flats .and of course Jackman wheels made in El Cajon . with twin Bilstein's in back . When I sold it the girl when with the Bug. Damn I miss that Baja bug ..Not the girl

Love how purpose built this is. This was a while back in your build but how do you like the Magnaflow muffler?
