Really nice truck man. Always wished I had the skills and access to equipment to do work like that on my own vehicle. Unfortunately my profession has made me DIY incompetent.

So this is happening today. Attempting to "colormatch" mirror caps. So far results look good! I will post a final pic when completed.

Any tips on painting over chrome to color match your bumper caps? I've been told by more than one body/paint guy that I can't paint over chrome. The bumper caps are the only chrome left on my truck, I'd love to get them painted.

Your truck looks fantastic - I'm curious to see how your mirrors turn out.

Thank you!! I was told I could not paint over the chrome also. I had a paint shop do the work but they sanded the chrome down or off from what I understand. Then used some type of primer followed by the white paint. Hardest and most important part is the prep before paint.

As for the mirror caps... Just didn't want to spend $100 for just a simple mirror cap so figured I'd try a $5 can of spray can and if it really looks terrible I will bite the bullet and order them up from sparks.

Were you able to remove the caps without removing the mirrors? I'll be replacing my caps this week.

So here's the mirror results! As far as my eyes can see it's really not much different at all.

Finished with 2 coats of clear coat.

Looks good to me! 6 coats of gloss white with 2 coats of clear coat. Already had the clear coat so cost me $5 for 1 can of white. I'll take it for now. Only time will tell.

Unfortunately I forgot to take some before measurements of the truck hight. But it was bone stock before the kings.

Right out of the box the shocks are showing about 8 threads. They are still at that setting currently. From center hub to wheel well I'm getting about 23.5 inches on both sides.
    IMG_2217.jpg
I have some before and after pictures of the shocks. Mad at myself for taking the pictures backwards but should give a basic idea of the hight. Bottom pic is with kings.
    Hope this helps!!

Awesome! I look forward to seeing what your specs come out to be. I plan to maybe add shackles and raise the front a little in the future. So I will be keeping my eye out for what you got! Good luck!

Got sick of looking at my stock headlights so went the cheap route and did the BLHM. Definitely was not easy and most of all very time consuming.
    IMG_2224.jpg
Getting these apart was very difficult! Many times back in the oven to soften the permaseal to completely remove all glue.
    IMG_2235.jpg
    IMG_2248.jpg
I did something a little different. I didn't like the small little chrome next to the reflector which is part of the headlight and not the Bessel piece that gets painted. So I taped off the headlight and painted the chrome part Andy I'm very happy with the results!
    IMG_2242.jpg
    IMG_2261.jpg
I removed all permaseal and added new butyl rubber to each headlight.
    IMG_2270.jpg
Final step install and enjoy!! And pray for no moisture later down the road! Good thing it never rains in Cali.
    IMG_2275.jpg
Also plastidip my tundra emblems and color matched mirrors and I think it looks great!

Love seeing trucks torn apart, then the end result. Well............it is never an end result. When we think we have all are bases covered we lay awake at night and think of what's next to do on our trucks. Love seeing each and every mod you do Brandon. Great lookin truck..........

Does a video count as a Build Mod??
I'm no video professional but I threw together a little edit from when I went to visit my friend up near pismo. First time taking the Tundra in the sand and it was awesome!

Yes that's Brantley! That song seemed to be stuck in our head the whole trip so decided to try and see if it worked in the edit.

Thank you Mark! I'm still learning and practicing but I enjoy trying to document the fun!

From what I remember it was pretty easy. Just more time consuming finding all the bolts to take off. The corner chrome pieces and the center plastic piece is all held together. I just removed the inner fender plastic and started taking off the bolts holding the bumper on and it just came off from that point. I would suggest removing the plastic piece below the headlights so u can reach around a little easier. Hope that is somewhat helpful!
