    Gotcha. Not to sidetrack, but did you see the Tacoma idash mount that one of the guys here tried in the Tundra and it worked?

    I did not see it. Can you tell me where to find it? We're working on an iDash Stealth Pod for both Tundra and Tacoma. I hope to have them available before the end of summer.

    Looks pretty nice if you're left handed lol. I am running the SG3 with my PM and its still in front of my shifter while i try to figure out how i want to mount it but that idash is pretty neat.

    Looks good. But I have a question. Why is he running the AEM boost gauge? The iDash can display the data from the (boost) pressure sensor. I suppose he may not have known that. You can add external sensors to the iDash.

    He may have had those prior to getting the idash. I think he was one of the new swap-overs from the PC to the PM like the rest of us. Not to mention that the pillar pod that he has is expensive.

    The reason we (Banks) engineered the PedalMonster was solely in response to the Pedal Commander's shortcomings. We looked at every failure point of the Pedal Commander and engineered a solution. Then, we patented the solutions so Pedal Commander was stuck selling an inferior, unsafe device. This video explains, and you even get a few laughs.

    I had a PC and it was trouble free. I dont think there are any issues with blowing fuses and messing with the pedal circuit on these trucks. There are issues on other platforms but we havent reported anything like that on these trucks.

    I sold it since the TSB for throttle lag got rid of most it and I saw no need for the PC. I later beta tested a PM and noticed no difference in functionality. The throttle in reverse was never a problem because I never adjusted the PC high enough to make it "dangerous" when backing up. So having that safety feature didnt save me from anything. I have a JB4 plugged into my obd2 port and I didnt want to use a splitter, so I sold the PM as well.

    Bottom line is, they both work fine on these trucks and the oem pedal sensitivity in reverse is nice, but not a problem if you dont have it turned all the way up.

    No, certainly not all vehicle have issues with Pedal Commanders. With that said, I've seen dozens of Tacoma owners (not Tundras) complaining of check engine lights. How do you like the JB4 tuner? We bought one for the Tundra, Tacoma and Ram 1500 for testing.

    I can say having the jb4 on the the regular premium gas tune and the PM on race makes the truck act like a drag car. Its fun but definitely difficult to drive as a daily driver. I keep the tune on the jb4 and set the PM to city and that gives me the best setup IMO.

    The JB4 has been great other than a random CEL here and there every few months due to a loose connection at the rear MAP sensor. Simply unplugging it and plugging back in takes care of it. The map selection is great, especially having E85 around and being able to mix E30 when I want to run Map 5 (Which is 90% of the time). The power increase is noticeable from top to bottom of the RPM range. That and the fact that BMS has amazing customer support has made the purchase well worth it.

    I do wish it had more PIDs though...maybe AIT pre and post intercoolers, LTFT, etc. But other than that, its a solid unit.

    My pedal commander has never thrown a code or malfunctioned. Put on very early into ownership. 85k+ miles. No hiccups ever.

    I have 1 setting i use, never change it to play around. In the instruction manual it says to not be moving if you change settings on the unit. I've seen and know people who just change settings on the fly while moving. Maybe it's that action that causes hiccups.

    I like the banks products they seem thought out. I'd try one in the future.

    Keep in mind that there are 2 versions of the PC. One was Bluetooth, one was not. The BT version had issues due to the voltage at the pedal. The potential of putting the truck in limp mode and the lack of a failsafe was a no go for me. I got rid of mine and switched to the Pedal Monster. I actually have 3 of them. I run one on both of my 4Runners as well.

    @ToyFan is there any issues with using 1 phone with the app to connect or set up all 3 or does the app connect to the vehicle being driven at that time?

    The Bluetooth pedal commander has documented issues of putting these trucks into limp mode - mine included. It happened to me three times and the last was when I was merging into a lane and the truck just wouldn’t go. Pedal to the floor and just inching along…..Dash lit up and that was it for me. Almost wrecked as a result. Pulled over, disconnected it, unpaired and actually gave it away on here because I didn’t want to risk it anymore (disclosed to the person I gave it to who has admittedly not reported any problems). For the record, I never switched settings while driving; always in park with the truck at rest.

    The explanation I got was that there is a voltage “backflow” that causes the truck to sense a dangerous issue and puts the truck into limp mode as a failsafe…..I ordered the pedal monster shortly after and have never had an issue. I am happy that many don’t seem to be having the same issue that I (and many others) have had, but simply the thought of a potential issue would be enough for me to stay away - and I readily admit my experience has jaded me on the product. It’s banks all the way for me from here on out.

    Mine is the Bluetooth version. Don't ever use it's Bluetooth feature or even have the app.

    I've never had it hiccup

    Maybe it's bad quality control and it's the luck of the draw. Which is not good

    Could be; from all my research it is only on the Bluetooth version so you may be right. I have had pedal commander on this truck, the banks pedal monster on this truck and a sprint booster on my 2014 4Runner.

    The Bluetooth still pulls the voltage whether you are using it or not.

    I have a 2020 Tundra and just added the Pedal Monster a week and a half ago. The integration between the iDash Pro, Pedal Monster and iPhone app is great. The throttle is definitely more responsive. I have noticed an intermittent issue in both City and Sport mode where during acceleration I hear and feel a clunk in the transmission/drivetrain. The truck never did this before Pedal Monster. Does anyone else have this issue? Banks technical support told me they haven't received other reports of this issue from Tundra owners. Not sure if the extra throttle being called for by Pedal Monster is causing the transmission to quickly shift 2 gears causing the noise.

    Yes. Not unique to Bank's PM. I experienced the same thing with PC and other throttle controllers with a more aggressive throttle curve. Feels like it is slamming into gear.

    I bought my truck from a family member and the Pedal Monster was already installed. The first thing I noticed was how clunky the transmission shifted at low speeds. I didn't think much of it, because I didn't have any experience with it before the Pedal Monster, I just thought this is how it ran.

    I read your post, turned the Pedal Monster to the off/stock mode to see if that would eliminate the hard shifting. Clunkiness, slamming gears, noises all went away. Needless to say, I won't be running this anymore. Frankly, I wish I could rip the whole thing out, but now I have the iDash w/pedal monster. I guess I'll just run the pedal monster with the off/stock mode. But you better believe I won't be running it. I am really hoping this didn't put stress, wear and tear on the transmission.
