Thanks for the pics @Ginsterkev! Looking fantastic! Do you prefer a mix of idash and analog gauges? This is great.

I’m not sure if these will fit in the 3rd Gen (22+) Tundras. The vent Geometries are totally different in our trucks. Also as Saltyhero mentioned I think that the Ortiz will mean the loss of the driver’s side handle for 3rd Gen.

Im looking forward to the 3rd Gen stealth pod Jay posted that integrates onto the back attachment point of the handle. I do hope that Banks will make a dual pod using that attachment point.

I think that I’ll prefer having all selected data visible on two idashes simultaneously rather than constantly switching screens on a single unit, that said I’ve not yet tried one (order placed, incoming).

This post has the steering wheel mounted version for gen 2.5:
    https://www.tundras.com/threads/gauges-with-magnuson-s-c.86348/#post-3154099

Until folks start modding the gen 3s I doubt there will be much in support for boost gauges

Not a fan of the suction mounted options, they tend to fall off at the most inconvenient times.

OC offering are also Gen 2.5s

I was referring to Ortiz's Gen 2.5 offering. They only have a no handle option for the A Pillar (reference Gin's pics)

Glowshift is another company that makes generic gauge pods.

We were not planning on an iDash dual Stealth Pod... However, if there's demand, it's certainly worth considering and I'm happy to pursue it with our engineers.

Yes I did and have had absolutely no issues at all. All you need is the OBD splitter and to disable the OBD function in the app. I kept the SG3 because it was a new purchase right before I switched from the PC to the Pedal Monster. I'm especially happy with the SG3 since I finally have a permanent mount for it.

Good morning Jay. Not to derail too far off the tracks, but for reference, could you explain the "sleep mode" in regards to the OBD port? I saw in a different post that someone had concerns of battery drain with the OBD having power supplied at all times. Thanks.

I installed the Banks Pedal Monster Today. Got Bluetooth connected and did all the account registration and played with the settings. It detected my vehicle and enabled the reverse control protection.

Then I unplugged everything to do the cable management and secure the controller under the dash. When I started the truck again, I relaunched the app. It connected for a moment and then disconnected even though Bluetooth was still connected. Power cycled the truck and relaunched the app and it connected to the truck but was showing reverse detection unavailable. I went through this a a few times before it allowed me to resync the reverse feature and it went back to green. This does not really leave me the warm and fuzzies.

I'll check it through the app randomly over the next couple weeks and see what happens.

But I'll say the drive home was much nicer in traffic and when I got up to the mountain twisties where I live.

You shouldn't have any issue with it disconnecting now that you have it routed and installed.

Is pedal monster doing anything to shift points? I highly doubt it, but since installing it, the shifting is really annoying. Seems to me that even at moderate throttle input, it holding shift points further out. Can make the truck feel pretty erratic.

Im thinking the shifting is being affected, not directly by PM, but rather the fact that it thinks I'm holding the pedal deeper and that it should hold lower gears longer.

    A bit annoying around town

I’m really liking mine. Is your truck stock @nasher75? I’m thinking the PM may be of most benefit to those of us with larger tires and suspension mods. FYI I’m not endorsed or sponsored by Banks in any way. I previously ran the BMS pedal tuner and hated it. I have 285/65R20 tires and the 3” TRD lift kit. Since going larger on tires and suspension I haven’t been nearly as happy with my shift points or acceleration. The PM on Sport 1 (where I am running it now) is pleasing me greatly on normal drive mode. If I switch to sport (Toyota drive) mode or Tow/Tow+ it’s just insane. I have not yet moved up on sport mode (2-10) or even touched track mode. My turbos kick on much more intuitively when I need them on the (PM) Sport 1 mode. I will be receiving my idash (logging) datamonster tomorrow and will set it up to display the PM data as well as my shift gear and turbo pressure. I will be happy to post data with PM on and off to compare, and will appreciate anyone’s help analyzing what I’m seeing. Cheers!

What size tires and is the speedometer calibrated? I ran 285/70's with my PM and had no issues. Once I went to 295's, I had gear hunting as I was off 4 to 5 mph. Once I did the speedometer calibration I was good to go.

IMG_8360.jpg IMG_8342.jpg IMG_8348.jpg IMG_8350.jpg Received my idash today, excited about it. It took a while to rewire my pedal monster but got everything set up successfully. I’m impressed with it so far. I spent some time setting up various screens. Selected Toyota as the vehicle and rebooted. The engine selection and displacement wasn’t intuitive, it would have been much better if this were all detected via the OBDII port. I selected 3.4L Twin Turbo/Intercooler/Throttle, the only other option is “no throttle”, not sure how these differ. I am trying to see what transmission gear I am shifted into as one of my settings, however the only option is “D” (drive) or P (park) which isn’t helpful. Boost PSIG is also not registering. I feel as if the 3rd Gen engine is not registering somehow. I may need a firmware update (checked: I’m on the latest update) and/or more experience with settings. Overall I’m quite happy with the quality of the unit. I was able to adjust the tire size and see a revised speed which is great. Looking forward to learning more about this and especially to the pillar mount in production. I can already tell that I am going to really enjoy setting up the various screens. The PM screens are great and provide the same readout as the app. Will continue to update.

edit: spent more time with the idash and customized the screens. I’m not presented with engine choices after selecting « Toyota », I’m asked to enter the size of the engine in litres and the displacement in cubic inches. I entered 3.4L and the displacement defaults to 207.5 instead of the 210 I’ve been entering. Despite selecting this I still can’t see my transmission gear settings (1-10) as the screen only lists drive, reverse etc; this is disappointing. Other vehicles support this. I suspect that the dash doesn’t recognize all the data from our trucks (yet): hopefully with a firmware update very soon. I like the color options, customizability, compact size, and endless permutations of data that can be displayed. Now if only I can get my gears to display. Not sure if the twin turbo intercooler (with throttle) choice is correct yet…

I recently got the stand alone unit. After upgrading to 33 hybrid tires that were larger and heavier than the stock size. I am pleased with performance so far. I’ve tried the city 5-7 and sport 5-7. Sport at 7 is a little jumpy like tow haul. All and all I like it and a shout out to hotshot off-road!!

Curious if anyone is running one of these units on a supercharged Tundra. How does it response to putting all that power to the ground? I find just taking the "nannies" completely off changes my truck's throttle response. Can't hardly convert all that power to forward motion. Truck easily spins larger tires on dry pavement, even with partial throttle! Any thoughts appreciated, especially your experience if you are running a SC.

I am running this with my maggy and I can say on sport 4 if your not careful it will jump pretty quick, and just for fun I turned it all the way up on track and turned tow/haul on let me just say that was insane just to try and get it to get off the line smoothly ...... needless to say I won't be doing that anymore lol .... tires are ridge graps 295-70-18 on factory pro wheels

Thanks for your quick reply. Sort of what I figured from your reply. I'm running 305/55/20 terra graps and my truck is insanely fast with all the "nannies" off. Honestly I don't drive around like that much unless I want to play with some obnoxious mustang revving their engine at a stoplight. Otherwise I'd be burning these rear tires off big time!

Yes I completely agree I will say I
Like the more responsiveness of the pedal monster because even with the blower on there I feel I do have to push the pedal further then I want to get it to go , but honestly that is prolly More placebo effect than anything ! If I want it to go, it will go with or with out the pedal monster .... just way cooler with it there !

If you are breaking traction stock, Banks PM wont help launching. They don't mute the pedal/TB opening (for safety as stated earlier), all their modes advance it. You can try another brand that has ECO or an OFFROAD mode but I can tell you first hand it doesn't help; however avoid Pedal Commander.

Your best bet is traction bars or similar device and better tires for hooking up at a launch; off road style tires are terrible for road traction. Also having something in the bed helps.

Put the order in yesterday and should arrive today. With all the torque and HP the Tundra window stick claims, I expect the feel of it more. Looking forward to this Banks device making that happen cause Toyota failed miserably dumping the v8 (even though it too had a lag in stock.)

Man, when I have something wrong and come to this forum, 90% of the time, you have an answer!

Mind if I ask what "No-obd" mode is, exactly, and what level you have your speed trim set to? I want to run an obd scanner to monitor AT and TC temps while towing and while using a splitter and the PM. When I checked and found your work-around, it seems like a good solution.

The No OBD mode redirects the data from the OBD port to the ScanGuage or whatever you are using. It does disable the reverse trim feature though. Its not a big deal as reverse stays stock. I'll see if I can find the actual post from Banks that explains the No OBD mode.

Hi Guys, I just bought Pedal Monster for my 2007 5.7L 4x4 Tundra. Unfortunately I am having a problem with installation and am seeking assistance from anyone who has installed on a 2nd Gen. I installed the pedal monster standard, paired the device to an iPhone, registered and attempted to calibrate but it does not work and prompts for a firmware upgrade from v14 to v15. Unfortunately, I get an error when I attempt to upgrade. Any info or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I am also having issues with a Pedal Monster on my truck. I haven't tried syncing to phone or updating (I'm running it through an iDash). Every time I switch settings on the PM it asks to recalibrate the PM. I've contacted Banks about the issue but they keep going radio silent for weeks at a time, saying they will have an engineer look in to it. I'm also having issues with my iDash which is, IMO, a hot pile of garbage. If you just purchased it, I would suggest contacting Banks for a full refund on a faulty product. They have offered to refund mine but won't provide any details to me as to how I can make that happen.

I'm 100000% disappointed in the Banks equipment offered for the Tundra.
