@War Machine... digging up an old thread. Did you use Cerakote Trim Coat, or something else? I'm needing something to protect my MX4.

I see this wasn't directed at me, but sharing in case it helps. I recently got a TonnoPro tri-fold and love it. I used a heavy dose of Aerospace 303 after install to give it UV protection and it's been through several rainstorms in the last 2 months. Water still beading up and rolling off like a champ. I'll probably end up re-applying twice a year based on current longevity, more for the UV protection part than the water repellant aspect.

@shifty` , yes, 303 is great stuff, I use it as well but looking for something more long-term for the aluminum folding hard cover. 303 hasn't really done what I wanted for that application. Thanks for the response though!

I'm seriously considering picking up the g2 for my 1st gen. From their site the g2 is the only one that fits an DC. Does anyone have the F1 on their 1st Gen?

Seems like limited options in general for hard folding tonneaus for our trucks... The g2 is just so dang expensive

I had a G2 for about 9 years on my 09. Cool stuff for the first few years but by the end I was less than impressed with it. It always let water in and the wire handle release was falling apart by the time I traded it. The knobs that tightened it up by the cab wouldn't tighten down properly anymore. I think the panels had indentations there in the foam in between from repeated removal and reinstallation over the years so it was getting hard to get them to bite down. It was probably a few months away from being worn to the point of being unusable when I let the truck go with it still mounted.

my $700 Ruggedliner topmount does not fold against the cab or lay flush but it is also almost completely watertight with just seals and no drain tubes.

I traded up my TonnoPro mentioned above for a BAKFlip FiberMax on my AC. I liked it more than the TonnoPro. The FiberMax was very similar to the G2. I liked it. But it did bother me when I had to haul something big, and I had to fold the unit up in a way it killed all view out the back window.
