I'm assuming there is no connector on the wires coming from the fogs then. If you haven't done so, I would verify the lights actually work by getting them connected to a 12V source. If you have a lawn mower battery around you could use that without having to remove the fogs. Otherwise I would just remove the fogs and touch the corresponding leads to your terminals. You could also run wire to jump the fogs to the battery but that may be more work than removing them.

If your factory fogs worked and the BD SAEs check out okay, you should theoretically be fine. Silly question, but did you disconnect the battery when you unplugged the factory fogs and installed the new ones? I hear that has the potential to open up a can of worms.

The fogs turn off when brights are engaged, FYI.

So we found out the relay is not grounding. Everything else seems to be in order. Any ideas on where to find this wire?

So today I tried to do the “Eddie Fog Light Mod” to see if that could circumvent the grounding issue I had with the grey wire. The “Eddie Mod” takes the grey wire and connects to a pink wire running from the J3 connector in the main body ECU. This mod let’s you have your fog lights on with your brights as well, so I thought I could kill two birds with one stone.

Cut to 15 minutes ago and I find out I don’t have a pink wire in the J3 connector.

Any suggestions would be really appreciated at this point.

Sounds like a ground activated circuit

Looks like my truck was wired for the fog light assembly but not for the switch. My game plan is to pin a wire into the stalk connector (J10 - pin 4) and connect to the grey wire.

Does anyone know what kind of pin I need for this?

I was able to call the local Toyota parts department and get a terminal repair kit for the fog light switch. Should be in next week and I can finish the wiring. I’ll let everyone know how it turns out.

    Hello Hanzo,
I just caught up on this thread, are you still having issues with the lights. What adaptor are you using and what wiring harness are you using. It sounds like the light is getting constant power or a backfeed in the line.
Let me know if you are still having issues and I can help trouble shoot with you or point you in the right direction.
    Best,
    Brock Brunkhorst

Also did your light come with factory fog lights and if so are you wired in to that harness.
