I've added "Canadian Rocky Mountains" to the list of stuff we are taking back with us.

Try that and we're taking Celine Dion and Bieber on a 50 state, multi-year tour of America. Really piss us off and we'll throw in Nickelback and Bryan Adams but I'm told that's a violation of the Geneva Convention. Something about torture and collective punishment... I don't know.

Hey now - y'all are supposed to be all passive and nice up there. No reason to get nasty. I thought if we gave you a heads up on taking your Rocky Mountains, you'd have them all dug up and ready to ship for us. Sheesh.

Having grown up less than 20 miles from Creston, BC, and having spent a good majority of my childhood wandering those Rockies, I would have to agree.

Nothing quite like splashing around in the Columbia River (yes, the same one that forms a large part of the OR/WA border) where it is barely 10 feet wide and a foot or two deep. More of a stream at that point.

Gotta hike to the Lake Agnes Tea House to get that view. And that was worth it.

I think that's going to become our new go-to hike in Banff. Sulphur Mountain is getting crazy.

There are probably as many pickups on the West coast as anywhere on the prairies because so many people there own boats...

New Brunswick is good too. Fundy NP...

And before Revelstoke is the Icefields Prkwy, Jasper, Kananaskis country, Waterton Lakes NP, Yoho (in the less travelled parts - which admittedly isn't much) and right before Revelstoke is BC's Glacier NP which is an absolute gem.

It's hard to find places in the parks which aren't a zoo but if you're not wedded to the peak summer season, even the main tourist places can be good. My wife is a teacher so we miss the best times to see everything but if you can get out in late September and don't mind cold, then even Banff is excellent outside of town.

The other tea house up there is better. Further up just before the Victoria glacier at the back.

This is the view about 500 meters or so past the tea house (which is set up to look like something out of Tibet but I don't have a pic of that handy). Windy AF there but awesome. My 8 year old daughter and 11 year old son (at the time) did this and both tea houses in the same day. SOOOO proud of them. They also did Asulkan Valley in BC Glacier.

Ya, I'm stuck with peak. It makes me sad... lol. The fall rut is the best time for everything including all the fall leaves. And all with 1/100,000 of the people. Even though at peak you can go 100 meters off most trail heads and see very few people you still see too many.
