WOW! That is expensive. I am sure it makes it shine great though!

Another reason I love my CR Spotless. No need to dry at all. Cuts down on paint contact significantly.

Another great suggestion , Jason! The least amount of times you can touch the surface, the better.

Disclaimer: I had a free sample of it. Yes, it was amazing, but definitely not budget friendly. Here’s a couple of pics from the day after I put it on.

I can’t recommend it enough to someone who has the budget. It also completely solved my hard water issue. I probably introduced plenty of swirls racing to dry my struck before it left hard water spots. I always had to rush, so hard to be careful.

Thanks for all of the great recommendations!!
For now, I'll probably just use some Maguiar's Ultimate stuff on it to get me through the winter because it's too cold to do the whole process.
When it gets warmer I'll spend a weekend and do it right.

Thanks for the detailed response! I do use foam applicators and also thoroughly check my microfiber towels after each wash. One thing I just thought about is that whenever I dry my towels I throw them in the dryer on high heat. Do you think this would be causing my towels to be come rough? They don’t feel rough or anything but just a though.

Also, did you do the ceramic coating yourself? I’ve been thinking about doing it on my truck and my wife’s car.

Thanks man, and even though my truck is red I got to agree that white is the fastest color! Lol (my old truck was white). Do they make that wax in a liquid form or is it a paste?

I do inspect my towels after they are washed. I’m thinking the dryer might be causing the microfiber “hooks” to harden and maybe this is what’s scratching my paint. I’ve never had good luck with the blow dry method (I used a leaf blower) it feels like I’m just chasing the water around. But I am mixing towels, I usually toss them all in a bin after each use and then take them all to wash at the same time. I might be going about this the wrong way. I think I might buy some new towels and use them for just the paint.

Reading your post above, to Jim, use low or air dry only. You are on to why the tips are hardening...

When I did the boot camp class atAutogeek, this was discussed... https://www.detailedimage.com/Ask-a-Pro/how-to-clean-and-properly-care-for-micro-fiber-towels/

Yes, a long process but I have the patience and background in using a DA polisher that I was comfortable doing my own. I am also very gentle with regards to the polish and pads used.

    This is last April:

I wash mine in the winter also. It’s the of the process that’s difficult to deal with in brrrrrrr weather.

I’m in Texas though, so it’s generally 80 degrees in December.

I believe it is only a paste, but this stuff is the best imo. My car shines, and soon to be Tundra (when I actually get one haha)! You don't need much and it will last for a long time.

Never thought about it before now. I think im going to do the ceramic coating on my truck and buy some new towels once I do that...

That look awesome! I also have a DA polisher and have some experience with it. As you stated, I only use the foam pads as well. How has it held up? Its almost been a year right?

I have one from Milwaukee that’s identical. Wonder if they’re private labeling them.

Any advice on safely removing overspray from powder coated wheel, door handle, and factory running boards? I do not feel like going back to the dealership because every time they fix something, they also mess something else up.

It’s actually pretty good for it’s size. Not going to do anything major, but I use it a lot.

    I use 3m Finesse-it II #05928

    https://www.amazon.com/3M-05928-Finesse-Machine-Polish-x/dp/B0006GBTP8

This is safe for clearcoats and has no wax in it. I also use this to remove swirls from paints before using C.QuartzUK. Not quick and aggressive but it will remove overspray safely and bring back some black colored plastics that start to fade.

A must for many years in my detailing cabinet!
