Just make sure it’s very clean and then wipe down with 50/50 alcohol before applying.

do not let the shit get wet for 24hrs after application.

I did the blacks on the FJ two years ago and they still look good. It’s the only product I’ve found that lasts this long.

May do the rear bumper center, mirrors, and new bumper caps as well.
There are spots on the wife's XT5 that could use some improvement too.

Another hot spot i hit that was one of my favorites was the black plastic window cowl just below the windshield between the windshield and the hood.
was slightly faded black and it rejuvenated it and has repelled water and kept it a nice black for years

It bears repeating for at least a third time. Follow the directions explicitly. The best proof of this stuff’s longevity is a screw up. I’ve been looking at a spot where water dropped on some nerf bars after application for almost four years.

You got a lot of good responses here. Just so you know, before we send our the TPO Shellz, we wipe them down with Armorall and we always suggest Armorall or similar products when the TPO Shellz get dirty.

Not gonna lie, I learned something new today in regards to where to use the spray (I usually just use it on a foam block to spread around, but then have to fight the wheels)

Before I would spray the foam (sponge) and wipe around up/down. What he was saying was is to start at the grooves (top) and go down.

Since we're talking about cerakote, i just got done with my trim. I always mean to use it after i wash the truck, but i'm worried about getting water drops on it no matter how hard i try to get it dry, so i hold off.
I just washed the truck last weekend, so it wasn't super dirty. Its overcast today so i figured its perfect weather to do it. I figued id just wash the trim and not the entire truck. I used Dawn Power Wash foam sprayer and a brush to wash just the trim and packed Griots PFM towels in every nook and cranny to try to get all the water out from everywhere. I went and used a shop paper towel with IPA and gave everything a wipedown, then went over it with a microfiber to get any fibers from the paper towels off.

Applying the cerakote was super easy but holy hell it wants to get streaky when you first start usign a fresh towelette. The trim around my wipers looks pretty streaky. We'll see if it softens up as it dries.

I was pretty suprised that its reasonably tacky, but seems to firm up when dry.

mine does get to be kept in the garage....so i'm sure that helps.
it is getting close to possibly needing another application though.

Wish I had a garage to keep my truck in. Garage now doubles as a little storage and work shop.

I wonder if that area is made with a different kind of plastic. I’ve tried several products on that piece but nothing has ever lasted as well as it did on other areas. It may be due to it being in direct sunlight at all times though.

Get both a small and large cockpit brush. They both come in handy.
