Don't mind the cynical folks. I'm sure it's better than no coating at all. Just be sure to do regular washes and apply something to protect either the factory paint and clearcoat or the glass coat. Look into spray sealants. Nothing is truly maintenance free, certain products do make maintenance easier though, which is what you got with the simonize

Maybe so, couldn't hurt, thats for sure. As you mentioned, wash and use sealant should be fine.

    No worries, I know for
It definitely has made washing my truck easier honestly. Usually when I get home I can hose off my truck and get most of the dirt off. I bought sealant called Hydrosilix so I’ll have to test it out.

Hydrosilix Recharge? I've read good things. Sounds similar to carpro reload which works really well. And should work even better over something ceramic or glass coated.

Yup recharge. Good stuff. Use some good clean microfiber towels after a really good wash. It will increase the hydrophobic qualities and last for months. The spray on wax will likely add more shine but only for a week or 2, not to say to not use it. But the recharge is a superior product and protects much better. Let's see your truck!!

    That's a good deal. Probably a $30-40 bottle.
Nice truck btw. Will look even better soon. You'll be amazed how easy it is to apply and how well it beads water

When I bought my daughter’s car last summer, it supposedly had some kind of coating on it already. I don’t remember the brand, just that there was a line on the invoice charging $500.00 for some kind of protection. I asked the salesman what it was, and he pretty much described it as a ceramic coating.

I just happened to have a water bottle in my hand, so I poured it on there. It didn’t run off at all, so I told him they were full of shit. He added five years of free scratch and ding repair to the deal. Of course, it’s doubtful I’ll ever use it, but whatever.

I had to do a full paint decon the day after I bought it anyway. Brand new car, the paint was rough as hell.

Yeah, this pic is from about a year ago. There’s twice as much stuff in there now, and I’ve had to expand my storage.

I picked up a 2oz bottle of optimum opticoat from the rag co, seems like an interesting product. I'll try it out on my maple sap truck I think and do a review. Its a sealant but goes in super thin and they say 2oz will do like 8-10 cars. We shall see.

whats best for washing your truck may not be whats best for power washing your house.....Kranzle is the way to go for electric, if your budget can withstand a hit of at least 800.00....their psi numbers are not that impressive, but gpm (flow rate) is more important, especially when foaming.

I might be more inclined to spend a little less and get a SunJoe for your vehicles, and look in to a Simpson gas-powered for the house. You could buy both for less than the price of the Kranzle.

I have a karcher k2 and I like it. Good for car and general cleanup after maple syrup season, not good for a house washer. Need to be close to what your washing for it to work well

If your wheels are ceramic coated, you shouldn't need a wheel cleaner to get them clean. Once I coated my wheels, they come clean with soap and water. According to the description on Car-Pro, it is safe for powder coated wheels. I've never used that wheel cleaner, but as I read up on it, it appears to be potent enough to degrade your ceramic coating over time, maybe to the point where Reload is not enough.

BareBones undercarriage spray is very similar to Griots Garage Undercarriage spray, and is oil based. It's a little messy to work with, but you can shoot it onto leaf springs, coil springs, as well as plastic wheel wells, and it will make them look nice.

First off, I've seen dozens of videos that Scott makes. He's quite a character, and has shown a lot of lower cost alternatives that make sense. This is one of them...he's showing you a spray wax as a drying aid. Are there alternatives to what he's using....absolutely. Are there any at a lower price point...likely not many. I've found it for 20.99 a gallon, and to buy a name brand gallon of spray wax (Griots), you'd spend 44.99, and they do not list any means or suggestions for dilution. Will the protection it gives last as long as some of the name brands....I'm guessing no. But for 20.99, even at full strength, it's probably worth trying

    Thanks for responding,

Would it be reasonable to incorporate this before using Beadmaker, or instead? Hit it was a couple blasts of this, rinse it off, then Beadmaker and dry?

I've never used Bead Maker as a drying aid on a wet car. I'm not saying it couldn't/shouldn't be, just that I've not done so. If you think of things in the more traditional sense of combining (non spray) wax and sealant, the sealant (Bead Maker) goes first...then the wax. You'd not be doing any harm by using this product first to aid in the drying process, then applying Bead Maker....but I think you'd (to a very slight degree) likely be impeding the ability of the Bead Maker to bond correctly.

I traditionally go Hydro 2 as my sealant. I only apply that 3x a year though. So for normal washing I would normally. Wash, rinse, beadmaker, done. I was thinking with this, wash, add spray wax, rinse, beadmaker done. This wouldn't replace my hydro 2 as my traditional sealant, just act as a drying aid.

Am I creating more work, for little gain? Or like you said, maybe reducing the life of the Beadmaker?

if it were me...I'd wash...dry...BeadMaker...done. Unless impossible, avoid direct sunlight when washing, and if you don't have water issues, you're fine. Maybe I'll pick up a bottle of that stuff and see how it works out...you never know, I might have a change of heart

I was just wondering can Hydro02 by applied to all surfaces, or should you avoid plastic trim and rubber?
