Wash clay ipa prep. Then apply with an autofiber saver applicator. Suggested wait time is 7 to 10 minutes. Rule of thumb is when you drag a MF towel across with 0 pressure and it doesn't smudge (you'll see trails where you applied as it flashes) and the product feels grabby, buff off. Use a second towel for final wipe. Inspect closely for high spots. Let it sit 24 hours then good to go.

Temp and humidity determine wipe off times. 70 degrees and sub 50% humidity I'm often at 12min buff off time. Longer it stays the better it bonds just be wary of high spotting.

Makes sure the panel is entirely clean free of potential oils and residue from claying before applying. Cleaner bonds.

I purchased the Griots Interior Cleaner and I’m amazed at how good it looks without the greasy slick finish of an amor all or something similar

Anyone else use this? I like the factory, non glossy look where I won’t need to buff it in.
I checked Amazon for the Adams Polishes Microban interior detailer, but no luck. Open to options

Also, I went ahead and ordered the Undrdog Pro
Once it’s applied, I just regularly wash it, right? Any need to add anything throughout the years with it?

Regular washing suffices. The product boasts never needing a topper...but in congruence with other coatings I always spray a sealant overtop...sacrificial layer before the coating gets touched by the elements. At the risk of sounding like a fan boy, I'd suggest their Quick Detail. The name is misleading...it's a standalone sealant that's been proven to last several months. I'll typically dry and apply but I've seen several folks using as a drying aid.

Edit: there's a 2 for $40 deal going on right now for their QD I think. It's a great product. I coated our countertops and appliances and use QD diluted every once in a while to spruce things up lol.

Yup. After you dry just a few sprays per panel and buff. Acts as a layer on top of the coating to get destroyed rather than the coating itself being in direct contact with contaminates. It won't bond well (last as long) because the underlying coating wants to reject everything (which is good) but it's cheap insurance to make the coating last to its full potential. Link below

No sir. I have the 1 year "secret" one too and its awesome. But for the cost of it, I don't waste it on coated car maintenance as the coating will naturally want to reject anything on it anyways. Quick Detail is a separate product I linked above. The sprayer is crap...but the product is awesome.

Ive got the QD also, just haven’t used it beyond a quick fender test. That other stuff is awesome. It’s been really impressive on the Sequoia. Definitely expensive though.

Yeah for the price I'm not sure how I feel about it. Other stuff has been holding up just as well as the 1 year stuff at a fraction of the cost.

Just confirming I am still following the proper procedure for a wash:
    Rinse
    Foam
Let sit for a few mins
    Rinse
    2 bucket wash

If this is correct, is it recommended this way is done each time or just rinse, foam, rinse?

I wouldn't do a clay unless it feels rough because clay will mar it then you might be looking at a polish job.

Rinsing beforehand doesn't necessarily do anything. There's a few youtube channels that show pre-rinsing before foaming was actually counterintuitive to foaming as the foam stuck less to a pre-wet surface and didnt remove as much grime. My method that I always do is spray a bug/tar remover on stuff I know is going to be difficult, foam soak, let dwell a few minutes, pressure wash off, two bucket wash from the top down. I also have a separate mitt for the really grimy parts (grille, running boards/rockers, etc) as I try and keep the funky stuff away from my primary mitt that is used for cleaning the majority of the vehicle.

I would recommend doing it this way every time. It's the best way to help eliminate scratching the paint. You'll never 100% eliminate scratching the vehicle when you wash it...it's going to happen anytime abrasion is used on soft paintwork. But you're mitigating the chances by following that procedure.

Sounds like a dull, long maintenance routine...but to put it in perspective a sedan typically takes me about 2 hours to prep for coating (that includes iron remover and clay barring so lets just say 1.5 hours cutting that mess out for the sake of the argument). When we inevitably see that vehicle again to maintenance wash it, it will take roughly 20 minutes....that's all the same procedure (minus the coating prep routine). And I'm super anal when I wash vehicles. I have about 8 different types of wheel brushes, 3 soft brushes we use to outline every panel/joint on the body work to remove embedded grime, etc. So 20 minutes to do the same thing that took 1.5 hours with my stupid anal routine....subsequent washes of a coated vehicle by a regular consumer will be an absolute cakewalk.

Edit: the only time I will pre-rinse before foaming is if there is a clear buildup of excess grime (Ex. a truck with mud all over it). Then you'll need to pre rinse for sure.

That makes sense, and will now save me maybe 5 mins if not rinsing beforehand :D

I do have the grit thing in my buckets I try to rub the MF wash mit on (rinse bucket)

The 1 year was a limited run product. I believe they're refining it and looking to make it a permanent thing. Was a big hit.
