Currently getting ready for the 2022 year and reupping the majority of my inventory supplies. I haven't really been paying attention to the detail product world as I've found pretty much everything that works for me, but has anyone tried anything new recently that is worth picking up? I'm going to grab some Optimum Hyper Polish (new formula) that is apparently a knock-out one step product (it's a sprayable polish).

Been following Auto Fanatic on Youtube for a while. He comes off as kind of pompous, and his voice is on the irritating side, but he does have his own line of products. I did get a bottle of his Snow Foam....and it is a very nice foam cannon shampoo....have not tried it in a bucket wash yet.

What's everyone's thoughts on graphene coatings? Specifically the spray on one that Adam's sells. Seems easy enough to do and low risk of me messing something up.

I bought a bunch of products but haven't had an opportunity to test them. The only one I'm excited really excited about is CarPro Retyre which is a rubber tire cleaner. Its not for routine cleaning but for initial cleaning especially neglected tires. Also picked up Q2 Wax which is a wax for ceramic coatings (madness I know). Tempted to try NanoResin Pro:

I just did my first ONR, no streaking or any of the trouble I had before, I think this is going to be how I do it from now on, thank you for the advice everybody back when I first posted about my detailing skills (or lack thereof...)

Ammo Foam is awesome, but messy to use and expensive. Ammo Spit is a great detail spray.
That said, I don’t use their stuff much. It’s expensive and last time I looked they don’t have bulk sizes.

I’m the same as you. I’ve really settled in on what works for me, so I haven’t tried a lot of new stuff over the last couple of years. I recently tried Griots aerosol tire cleaner and was unimpressed. It’s not often a Griots product is subpar, but this is a flop.

It’s a great product, and very versatile. It makes a great interior and glass cleaner with the right dilution in a spray bottle. Good to keep in the truck for spills, etc.

Where does everyone order their detail stuff from? I've used autogeek and their other company, forgot its name...I feel like I'm stuck with a mail in rebate with the rewards system but am open to giving shine supply a try or someone else. Just not very familiar with other places and it seems that most of the products are in house at some of the places.
Anyone use car supplies warehouse ?

i personally use autogeek/autotopia. the rag company. and shine supply. haven't had issues with any of them for my stuff.

every blue moon i use Amazon, but not too often honestly. they're usually more and don't usually have the products i need/want. but sometimes, something as simple as a bucket is needed that i won't pay $25 for because it says "wash/rinse/wheels" on it.

Detailed Image is my primary. Also cross reference products with Amazon prices. Sometimes you can find them cheaper on there.

I’ve been buying most my products directly from the companies them selves for the most part. For other supplies I use detailed image.

Autogeek, Autopia are my two main sources, but I shop every price/discount around. I've also gotten a fair amount from detailed image, and recently have ordered from Autoality. A lot of times I can get stuff from Amazon cheaper than I can from other sites, even when the other sites are having a sale, because of the free shipping.

I've got some pretty hard water and have noticed after i got the sequoia coated (even my other past vehicles and wife's van) that there appears to be some water spotting. i generally will wash in the shade with carpro reset and bring inside the garage to dry it off. i've been doing mostly flood rinsing to get most of the water off before bringing in the garage. i thought about utilizing the carpro descale soap to eliminate these water spots since i believe its from our water. am i going about this the right way, or do i need to try a different route? the whole vehicle is coated with carpro cquartz 3.0 uk. thanks in advance guys.

    ***EDIT TO ADD***
i may try using just their spotless option too. any info appreciated!

For a water spot remover, try Undrdog WSP. Best I've found so far and is extremely effective in demineralizing a contaminated coating and removing spots.

Short of getting a DI setup to run "cleaner" water and reduce water spotting, try tossing some blue ONR into your wash buckets. 2 to 4 ounces. ONR acts as a mineralization reducer. I'm on a well and water quality is awful. No issues using ONR everytime.

Edit: descale may work great. But I don't have experience to speak on it and seeing as I wash more volume of vehicles, ONR is more economical solution.

i've heard adding ONR would help. but wondered what it would be useful for if you're still using your water hose to rinse off the vehicle. not doubting what you're saying, just wondering

We dry immediately upon rinsing so no dwell time for any water spots to form. Water spots are just minerals in the water being left behind after water evaporates. If there's any down time, spritz a bit of ONR on the car and it can be used as a drying aid.

Anywhere around there. I'll be honest I never accurately dilute stuff lol. I just eyeball it. I have 32oz bottles and put a couple ounces in and fill the rest with water (distilled if ya got it). I use this as my clay lube but have used it for a drying aid before due to water spotting in the sun.

Do you put a topper on your vehicle after it is dry since it's coated?

In some items, i'm about the same. i just wanted to make sure it wasn't something like 50/50.
on mine, i put carpro hydro2 touchless sealant. only done once about a month after i coated, and another time about 6 months after.. says only use it once every 6 months or so. but that's applied by spraying on while wet, and rinsing off with a powerful stream of water like a pressure washer or jet stream of water.
the wife's van is coated with avalon king armor shield ix, and i use beadmaker on it every month typically as a drying aid.

Adjust the dilution ratio according to how hard your water is. I played around with ratios until I found what was best for my well water.

CarPro Reload or Gtechniq C2V3 can be used as drying aids for coated vehicles too outside of the 6 month suggested usage of Hydro2. The idea is it will keep the vehicle wet enough to prevent the spots from having a chance to form (just move quick). Just realize using a SiO2/sealant as a drying aid, whatever towel you use will begin to perform worse over time. I've killed a couple Griot's PFM towels by using drying aids and had to buy more.

I cannot get it to show up in a picture to save my life but I think I have "etching" on my hood. Basically it looks like a big ass, white water spot that NEVER goes away. How do I make that disappear? It is driving me completely insane (which for me is a short trip)

YEP, have a designated Griot's PFM towel used for doing those. i try to wash it immediately after to help get it out. but one is almost trash, then i'll be moving my other one over to take over that role.

I keep a bucket with a gallon of water and a few ounces of APC in it for this reason. It also works great for towels used for coatings. Use the towels and toss them in to let them soak and prevent any sealant/SiO2 drying aid/coating product from setting up before you get a chance to fully wash.
