I think they win the award for coming up with the most ways to sell an all purpose cleaner.

Good to know, I think I'll go with the lexol leather kit and stick with my 303 for the interior trim. I was intrigued by the pump sprayer for the waterless wash I'm using. Is this also not ideal?

More than anything, it’s that they offer way too many products that do the same thing, and better products can be had for the price. Their focus is mainly on marketing. While some of their products are good, and I do use a couple regularly, 99% are average at best, and they charge more than their performance dictates.

I’ve not used theirs, but I can vouch for IK sprayers. They are about 50% more than CG’s, but I can attest that they are high quality. The CG ones may be fine, but I can’t speak to it.

+1 on IK products. High quality product all around and easy to service, maintain and repair. I've got a few of the big Pro Foamers (love using these things with an electric pump), the hand pump Multi's, and the hand pump Foamers. All good kit. I just got a few of their bottle sprayers in; they share the same robustness of their other products. The best part of IK is 99% of car cleaning products will work in all of them without worry of damaging the components. Recommended product line for sure.

Hello All... Hope everyone is doing great.

Question... has anyone ever used the TST 5000 with PTFE? Picking up a new Pro in a few weeks and the Dealer is trying to talk me into this. $599 outside
and 579 inside. Not so concerned about the inside, more of the outside.

    any comments are welcome.

I'm being lazy not going through 124 pages.... My question is what are people using to remove bugs off windshield and front end? Bug season started here in CNY last week.

I have some 3D bug remover....which is decent. I also use Optimum Power Clean at 5:1 out of an IK foamer. The best bug remover I've ever found is Kenotek Anti Insect......but I can no longer fond a source for it in the U.S.

Never used it.....but from my perspective, I'd not have a dealer do any legitimate detailing work on my vehicle.

Not familiar with the product, but the general rule of thumb is to never pay a dealership for this kind of thing.
    1: They’re generally overpriced.
2: They usually use products we’ve never heard of, with little to no information or objective reviews to be found anywhere.
3: They don’t usually have actual detailers on their staff, so it’s going to be some guy in make-ready rushing through the job.

Overall, it’s almost certainly going to be a scam to get some extra profit. Almost nobody actually pays attention to whether or not the products do what they say they do, so it’s just them making a quick buck.

I’ve bought a vehicle before where the dealer claimed they’d already done a coating on it, and tried to include it in the price. A five second test proved it wasn’t coated. I asked them to remove it from the price. The fact that they removed that line from the invoice without even attempting to argue pretty much proved my point.

Shine Supply Bug Off is the best dedicated product I’ve used. You can get 10% off with promo code tundra10.

That said, a spray bottle of water, some bounce sheets, and a detail spray will usually do the trick as well as anything. Just don’t let the fabric softener sit on your paint long.

Gyeon makes great products. I have no experience with this specific one. I use CarPro reset for all coated vehicles.

X2......Reset is less expensive, with the same dilution ratio. This stuff is 22.99 for 400ml......you can get 500ml of Reset for15.99 and 1000ml of it for 24.99

I read a bit on this. It seems to do three jobs in one. Is the product really good at all three or passable enough that you don’t have to use three different products?

Not sure about that one....would have to see it in action on a coated car to see how potent its decontamination power is. Restoration of hydrophobicity usually comes from simply getting the coating clean.....and it will have to be pretty darn good to unseat Reset.

Same here. I haven’t used this one. Gyeon makes solid products, but I can’t imagine how it would improve on Reset, especially since it’s more expensive. Reset is one of those products that is head and shoulders above its competitors.

If you're looking to save money, I'd just buy the Harbor Freight DA (use a coupon). It'll probably be close to the price of that and is actually a decent machine for hobbyist use.

Sorry if I missed something and was posted before and didn't read the 125 pages of threads, but for my Toyota car, Tundra and I only use and Collenite 845 to wax my cars and planes, and haven't found anything that beats it and have tried them all. As a pilot flying 350 knots in bad weather through the rain in bad weather beats to death the finish on an aircraft at 500% faster than a car.

Great product Collenite is and very easy to put on and wipe off, or buff off which we do on the planes and would highly recommend you try it and haven't found any better product for waxing the car/Tundra/Plane and Jets.

You can warm up the Collenite 845 to make application easier. A little goes a long way.
