I just did my first oil change in the tundra and went with the Rotella since I only use Shell gas. Can’t say much other than the engine sounds quieter. The website for the rebate has been down for weeks though and that’s frustrating.

As someone who has wasted too much of my life reading about various engine oils including a site completely devoted to engine oil I can say without any reservations that as long as it meets manufacture specs I have never seen any significant objective difference in the performance of synthetic oils from well-known manufactures. ZERO!

The truth is within a spec and grade all synthetics do a very good and equal job and there is no oil made from magic unicorn tears. Shell, Mobil, Castrol, Warren, Valvoline, Quaker State...take your pick.

I Had just picked up 6 gallons of 5-20w for $4.99 a gallon only a couple weeks before I found out about the rotella sale. Had also come across a decent deal on Amazon for some castrol edge that I grabbed and then have a bunch of rotella t-6 that I use in my outboards. Guessing I am pretty much set for oil changes for the next 6 years or so
