Anyone run these tires? Will they rub?

255/75/17

I’m on the fence about buying these tires as I’m unsure if they’ll rub or not. I’ve got Bilstein 5100 w/ OME 84 up front and 5100’s in the rear. Will I require spacers?

It's the correct center bore, and ET = offset, so offset is +12.

Running those numbers thru an offset calculator so I don't need to bend my brain before this 2nd cup of coffee kicks in, and comparing it to the 'known working specs' in the wheel/tire section of the megathread which I'm pasting the bullets for below, it looks like that'll put you at 4.5" backspace, which should be great for avoiding suspension rub and give a nice bit of poke, especially if you don't have fender flares. With flares, it should put your wheel and tire just inside the edge of the flare. From the wheel/tire of Megathread:

• Wheel fitment (backspacing/offset info) ... backspacing/offset plays an important role in whether or not you're gonna rub when choosing larger-than-OEM tires. If you need help with understanding what ballpark you should be aiming in, this is a good thread to read. Gist: The best put year near the fender edge w/o rub on 8½" wide wheel is ~4¾" backspace, at 9" wide ~4.5" backspace. Popular OEM 7½" wide wheels had 5" backspace. You can run oversize 275/70r17 tires on 17x8.5" wheels @ 0 offset (i.e. 4.75" backspace) leveling up front w/minor rub.
• Wheel fitment (caliper rub): If your truck has larger 13WL calipers, beware of caliper rub! 13WL is std on 2003+
• Wheel fitment (from other Tundras): 2007-2022 Tundras use 5-lug wheels. In 2023, Tundras started using 6-lug axles again, but the hub bore is smaller (95mm on 3rd gen vs. 106mm on 1st gen), so they technically won't work unless you spend a couple hundo on custom-made spacers.
• Some other tire size considerations see HERE and more over HERE.
• Wheel fitment (from other Toyota models): Anything from PRE-2024 Tacomas, 4Runners, Land Cruiser, LX470 and GX models that are 6-lug will typically fit. Someone here is probably running it already, and pics of it are in the OEM wheels thread. Make sure the hub bore is 106.1mm on the donor wheels else you need hubcentric adapters.

Whether you rub frame and/or eat fender well is going to be a factor of your tire choice more than anything. Awfully skinny wheel, even skinnier than the factory alloys. What tires are you planning to run on those?

Appreciate the good information as always. I plan on running 255/75s, unsure of the exact tire I want to go with but that’s more or less the size. Falken Wildpeak At3w, Yokohama Geolandar A/T G015 or Cooper Discoverer AT3s all seem like reasonable options for me.

 

I have 255x85xr16 on the factory wheel and I rub the fender well, especially when stuffed. Cooper st maxx.
