Read another report on Soda and Afton etc.

"I stopped by the Afton Water crossing on Friday (March 1st) and it is at its usual level and I talked with someone who had just come across the Soda Lake with no problems. You should be fine next month."

I wish! Wife is leaving early sunday morning and won't be back till late next friday night. I'm on kid duty. Then kid school function/benefit next Saturday. That's why I'm planning a run for the end of the month instead. Lava tubes, megaphone, dunes, Hole in the wall, Carothers Canyon

The water crossing depth doesn't really change much but soda lake will be a mess.

Just out of curiosity, what would a good SGU tire pressure be for 35in (ish) MT's? I know that lower is "better", but then again, with the speeds that SGU typically drive you don't want the side walls heating up too much so higher is "better".

I run anywhere between 22-26 depending on the trail. 35's w/18. Much lower you can compress the tire too much at speed and damage the rim. I broke a rim on a high speed section after hitting a rock at around 20psi - no damage to the tire.

Soda lake was a little muddy and slippery, but not a big deal to cross
