I lucked out and first met Dustin on the beach during a meet - DAP'ed for $400 (while back) and undetectable to boot. My ARH system install I really lucked out on - $800. The shop owners are friends haha

Are you saying even those with headers alone should beef up their transmissions?
Those are great prices, especially the header installation.

No, I meant that if you're SC'ed WITH headers it's a no brainer

I like the idea of being around 550hp and not breaking anything. I enjoyed driving my father-in-laws SL55 AMG which had about 530hp. I currently have 285 tires on Rock Warrior forged wheels but I'm not opposed to switching out the setup if it doesn't work with the SC. So far I've hit every maintenance schedule for my wife's GX460 so I'm sure I won't have a problem doing so for the Tundra. I'm sure I'll play around some and tow some but overall this will by my daily.
The exhaust system is mostly for the performance sound.

This sounds like what I had planned before seeing this thread and how I plan on driving it. I am glad that you guys confirmed that I can save $650 not buying the headers.
I do have an ongoing conversation with Keith about my decision; I just wanted to get some added advise from those running a similar setup.

I'll definitely have to join that group too. I am a part of the PNW Tundras & Tundra Classified groups.
I have not invested in, nor have I researched, the L10 trannies but I'm sure it will be on my list of things to do. Again, I'm not looking to max out the setup and romp all of the time but I don't want to decrease the reliability either.

I know you're consulting DD on your exhaust options but consider talking to Dustin @ DAP as well. The man has done more with Tundras than anyone else I've ever met. There's a reason he only uses ARH and has a Harrop SC w/headers that pushes some serious numbers.

Noticed you're in Gig Harbor - I'm a 4WD Toyota Owner subscriber and they're in your town. I've been there as well as I used to live in WA state. If you haven't checked out 4WD Toyota Owner, you should.

I'm not opposed to talking with any experts about the decisions I make. I'll reach out to Dustin for some input as well.

I actually have seen their white 4runner many times. We wave in passing, as I had a overland Tacoma build, but I don't think we have ever actually spoken with each other.

I know I’m a little late but I thought I’ll put my two cents in. I have jba LT headers and the TRD replacement duals with two of the factory cats in the mid pipes. I got the the entire system from @dirtydeeds. I love it and get a lot of compliments. it’s not real loud until I hit a hill towing my 5000 pound boat and it down shifts. I paid 700 to have the entire system installed headers, mid pipes, bamuffler and tail pipes.

I was quoted around 1100 i believe for header/midpipe install on the ARH system here in Houston. I had previously installed the JBA system and was not the most fun ive had working on the truck. I went ahead and swapped the JBA for the ARH to save some money and it was alot "easier" the next time.

Im very late about this topic,

My current performance mods are TRD Cold Air Intake, and TRD Replacement exhaust with x-pipe and resonators by dirty deeds.

but I already talked with DAP tuning and they are going to be giving me ARH long tube headers for my 2018 Tundra with a tune and dyno results before and after. I will for sure post them when done.

For those of you with ARH headers did you notice power gains during driving? is it much louder?

My goal is to gain at least 35HP and 35 lb/ft peak power wise with the headers and Tune.

For some reason I thought I read somewhere that the gains were more than that when adding long tube headers

they should be and I hope so! 3-4 weeks is when I get it done since that's the time it takes for the headers to be ready.

I noticed increased noise and increased power during daily driving. The additional 35hp is perhaps at the wheels...

When runnjng long tube headers on a naturally aspirated 5.7, with dual 2.5” exhaust you will gain 41hp and 73tq to the rear wheels over stock.

3” and the gains are 49hp and 89tq to the rear wheels.

arh is great quality. And jba is more of a production line quality part, they both make the same hp. And they’re both great headers. With jba being stainless steel, ceramic coated. And only $750, I prefer that brand, but either is just fine.

that said, we are the only manufacture of a nuts to butts exhaust system along with long tubes, thst is built just for you and your needs. Then shipped and you just bolt it on.

    call for details. 760-877-4234

What diameter pipe do y'all use for your TRD replacement exhaust?

I would suggest giving Keith Carty of Dirty Deeds Industries a call at 760-877-4234. He may be able to help you.

    Thanks, Shawna

Looking to order a set of ARH perhaps.

What's the difference btwn the 07-09 TRD set vs the 2010+ set?

Mid pipes are different. Keith told me when I called to talk about a custom system that they normally make the mid pipes in the 2007-2009 style when doing custom mids for JBA. The hangers are all in the same locations, though so it would fit on a newer truck.

I believe only difference is where the mid-pipes connect to the cat-back

Yep when I ordered my set I received 2010+ mid pipes and needed 07-09 TRD mids. They are the same diameter just bent differently to accommodate the 2 different OEM exhaust connections from when Toyota changed the design on 2010+
