After dropping off my wifes Subaru last night for a 60k service, she gets in the truck and complains about the lack of step. After a joking around "Give give me the OK and Ill fix that", she says Yes please...She is short and in a good mood apparently.

So down the rabbit hole of all the companies making bolt on sliders for 2nd Gen DCs. I really like the look of the Victory Strike sliders and they easily fill that step void. Powder coated and Shipped for $1100.

But I keep circling back White Knuckle .188 DOM sliders. Love the added protection and they have better coverage. But they are a harder sell on being a step without the top treadplate. And I like the look of them with the rear treadplate only. Bare metal and without shipping included $1080.

Am I over thinking this? I'm not going to hardcore wheel, I like the idea of added protection of a T-bone accident scenario and forest service roads while out fishing...

Can all be used to completely lift your truck off the ground.
C4 even has a vid of them doing it with a forklift.

I have C4 and love them.

Love of the look of them. Will the 3rd Gens fit the 2nds? Their website only has 3rd Gens listed...

pretty sure they will, they’re frame mount.
C4s and CBIs websites... one calls them all 2nd gens and one calls them all 3rd gens.

They would be able to verify.
    Call don’t email.
You’ll get a much faster answer.

Love the subtleness of the S1s as ditch lights. I had the same and now have squadrons, but man that’s clean. Makes me want to go back.

I'd say pull the trigger on the WKO.

I was in the same situation with you and with the wife being pregnant, she needed something to step on to get into the truck. Otherwise, for the trips we'll be driving my daily beater vs driving the truck.

I went .188 DOM, no top plate, bare metal (probably going to rattle can). Total cost with shipping an 5% discount came out to around ~$1300. Lead times are 8-10 weeks right now for WKO.

If you want some more reads, I started a thread for suggestions as well: https://www.tundras.com/threads/rock-slider-suggestions.82825/

I like the RCI's a lot but want the Slee's. I like the full step pad. Both are local. Slee has a great rep here in CO for fabbing rugged Yota sliders. Slee's are next up. I just spent $ I had set aside for the Slee's but used a big chunk of that to pay for my lift install. The Slee's for the Tunny don't look like your typical slider that they make but can handle anything. No kick out option but would be ideal for me. I think the OP's wife would approve because of the full step coverage not to mention they are built bullet proof.

Thanks...That was the thread that kinda started me down this rabbit hole. Now Im even more second guessing myself. I don't like the diamond plate on the WN, but they have better coverage and wouldn't want the dogs paws to get caught while jumping down. Even those he leaps a couple feet when he hops out.

I found a 5% discount code for the Victory sliders and was about to pull the trigger...Now Im just going around in circles...

    That is because they are.
But when it comes to aesthetics everybody has their own preference.
I happen to need a step and think the Slees look worlds better than than any tubular slider especially those that just tack some Diamond plate on the top and call it a step.

But they are by far the best actual step option.

This^^^. Clunky is only skin deep. It's what's underneath those clunky looking steps. A damn fine slider

Yup. The looks are total subjective to each individual. They look crazy stout. The wife rarely every ride in my truck, so a open tubular design with a small plate works...kinda.

I can barely make a decision out to dinner with menu more then 2 pages...

Look closer at the Slee pics.....the real deal with steps which is what you said your wife needs. I want the Slee not only for me but also for my grandson and anyone else climbing in. A no brainer for my needs. All the sliders mentioned are very good depending on your needs.

Keep in mind shipping cost too. CBI and RCI are reasonably close to MT....especially CBI

I prefer the step but also have a dog so her paws are the main reason.
Just wish I had the cash at the moment. But now the suspension is complete the Slee Sliders are my next big purchase.
