Really?!?! Mine bolted right up and didnt need to drill anything. But as long as you got it working, that's all that counts

There were a few imperfections that needed some attention. The mounts that came with the light were too wide, the access gaps weren’t lined up with any of the pre cut mount slots, and the bumper mounts didn’t line up when I got them on the light. I made it work

funny you say that...I actually outfitted the truck for such an event. I just haven't had the guts to test how warm the setup is. I got a small generator to run a high output, low voltage, space heater and a new sleeping bag. I was gonna try it out one of these nights but it's been so cold I haven't attempted it. I did camp one night when it was 20 degrees and it wasn't too bad, but not negative temps yet

I was gonna say, it's the perfect bug out vehicle. I used to camp in the cold when I backpacked in the mountains. You'll know right away what works and what doesn't. Give it a try. Then again you live in those conditions all the time so I'm preaching to the choir ;)

Yeah, me too in my 20s but I haven't done much backpacking in a while. it's actually the best thing on the planet to erase a brain for a few days. I spent 81 nights in a tent in Alaska back in 2001. Total reset was great for my soul

How sturdy and secure does the swing case seem? Still debating a couple of these or the voodoo lock box...

It’s not heavy duty but it holds my recovery gear just fine. The VooDoo box looks a little more sturdy but it takes up valuable bed space and I’m not going that route just because of that. I would do a drawer system first

Had mine over a year and it's loaded with tools, hitches and such. Prob maxing out that 80lbs I believe. It's holding up well and I use it pretty often. Love how it uses that kinda worthless bed space between wheel well and tailgate. Might even do a 2nd one day on passenger side.

Nice. I asked a long time ago and they told me no. But I forgot to tell them I was a rancher too. Guess I'll throw on some cowboy boots and hat next time I go to get tires rotated in couple k miles.

I know, that crossed my mind plus them knowing me might hurt chances of belief too. I don't know if the disguise of boots and hat will work. I might have to break out the fake mustache too. Lol
