    So does this actually improve performance at all? I figure for $15 its worth getting.

    Wait, don’t you already have the TRD airbox? I thought those come with the pro.

    Huh. Because I figured if you had that, you would already have the airflow accelerator .

    Actually I take it back I just checked and I do have the AFA. I was referring to the TRD CAI. At first I thought the TRD pro came with that, but it does not.

    The stock airbox has a similar looking piece. The TRD intake has a slightly larger airflow accelerator. The lower box is the same. The only thing that changes with the TRD is the lid, air filter and airflow accelerator.

    Too many…scratch that…not done yet.
    So long as you're not in a frigid climate (far-northern states, and aside from the polar vortexes);
    IMO any "CAI" is rendered damn near pointless without doing the Throttle body coolant bypass mod.
    If you're going to disassemble all the parts and especially if you're doing the screen delete on the TB, just take the time to do it.
    In colder climates, you might want to hold off until after winter.

    To the thread topic, the accelerator just provides an ample amount of air for the square, enclosed-box systems. If you want to have more 'available' air, search here or YT for Airbox mod.

    The other CAI's like S&B, K&N, etc. it may not be as necessary. Although having the open box/top just means your sucking in hot-engine air. That said, these systems can certainly make better use of the ram air style hoods.

    So just to confirm if I upgrade my CAI I should also purchase the air flow accelerator? Looking at purchasing the S&B. Got a 19 TRD Pro Tundra. Thx for feedback peeps!!

    Do they make an air flow accelerator for the 2020 tundra?
