Wait til you find out there's not ordering system for Toyota. There's a "wait list"

If I were selling Trucks for $70,000 faster than I could build them I wouldn’t give a shit what happens after they leave the factory neither. It’s just business I wouldn’t take it personal

I know... With these prices, they might as well put a Lexus logo on it

Be glad to respond, just don't have a clue where I'd be quoted anywhere.

    Now THAT's funny. :)
    1. Probably. They have been great thus far. Wanna know their biggest hesitation? I wouldn't agree to all the add-ons and, since I don't live local, I wouldn't be giving them all the service appointments they'd otherwise make money on. But they're doing it anyway. So, yeah, so far so good.
    2. I have never, nor will I ever put a lift kit on anything. Not my jam.
    3. Again, not my jam. Why would I buy something to put on a truck I don't even have? As an aside, the only thing I think I'll add is a truck box in the bed (back seat area doesn't seem to offer a ton of storage space). But I gotta have a vehicle first before I get anything for it.
    4. Can't guarantee that won't happen. I'd bet money most people would fall into this because, well, we're excited about our new truck. If this makes me a bad person, so be it.
    5. Highly doubt this will happen. First, because I have little need to call them (I think you can track shipment off the vin anyway right?) and second, I just don't seem the two guys I spoke to doing that. Maybe it will, but that'd be a me thing and not them.
    6. We actually discussed that multiple times. I understand allocation sometimes arrives with more options or less than your 'order' would say. Since it's a TRD there aren't that many to tack on ($5k in total, I think, for the sample one we looked at). I have hard no's on some of it (clear paint protection I'll never pay for, for example) and we agreed those will just be written off at sale. If it arrives with other options I simply don't wanna pay more for, I wait til the next one arrives. If I can trust the human beings I talked to, that is...
    7. See above. I hope that never happens. If it does, yeah, I'll once again be an angry little man and vent about it here. But only because as they say 'I have the receipts.'

In any case, forums have always been great places to find and express opinion on current state. I waded into these waters thinking one thing and got smacked around with reality. Yeah, it rubbed me the wrong way. And of course, this being a forum on the subject at hand, I posted to it. If this isn't an arena to do so, I'll be happy to just leave it as is.

If you're ever around the Troy, AL area, stop in for a pour. Be happy to talk trucks, bourbons, and forum posts.
    Cheers,

So did they give you the VIN number of one? If not, I think you're in for a longgggg wait.

Waiting has never been an issue for me. Paying $10-20K extra for it is.
