Yeah yeah yeah, I know. I can drone on from time to time. Especially when angry and facing the dumb.
I was on the verge of purchasing a Chevy ZR2 last night because of my well documented issues trying to order a Tundra TRD Pro, when my brother in law called. He lives over in Hoover and is buying a new truck himself. We got to chatting about his (he's going GMC AT4X), how ridiculous pricing has gotten, and how neither of us felt prices were gonna drop anytime soon.
Then he asked me how I felt about buying the ZR2. I talkedabout the features. How the front end looks nice. How the multifunction tailgate would be cool. He interrupted me and said, "That's not what I asked, Matt. I asked how the truck makes you feel."

Dropping $70k on a new vehicle - potentially the last one I'll ever buy - shouldn't end with a vehicle you settle on. I wanted the TRD. THAT truck gives me jingles. So, I tried again.

Tuscaloosa Toyota dealer decided to give me what I want. Yes, a dealer actually is gonna order and sell a TRD Pro to me for MSRP (+tax, doc, etc.). I don't have a delivery date but it doesn't really matter : I'm actually going to get the truck I wanted all along without getting screwed on the cost.

Thanks to all for feedback on my earlier rants. It did help me slow down and figure things out.
Look forward to the day I can post a pic of mine here. Until then, cheers,

Congrats. Its been frustrating getting vehicles, especially ones that are sought after. Hopefully the wait is worth it. I love my Pro. It gets a lot more attention than I thought it would

Don’t hold your breath on ever seeing the truck That’s a long painful road with Toyota That I’ve been down before that basically resulted in 11 months of waiting with no information and three months of trying to get my refund on my deposit

Have you driven a ZR2? I love the way they look, and the engine, but the actual interior doesn't impress me. And the multifunction tailgate is nice in theory, but the bumper step and bed handle are really where it's at.

The Silverado I drove was a lower trim with no off road package, but felt buttery smooth on the road. I'm curious what the ZR2 would feel like on the road.

That said, I'm glad I got the TRD Pro. Doesn'took to "bro-like" while drill being very impressive visually, and feels good on trails. Did a few omgours through Arizona over the weekend and loved every second.

Good for you, but your dealer didn't "order" you a TRD Pro. They are just waiting for an allocation to drop their way, who knows when or if that will happen. I hope it's sooner rather than later, but don't hold your breathe.

Being a Tuscaloosa native, I know how massive that dealership is/they sell a lot of volume. As DFS said, they're simply saying they'll get an allocation to hold for you. I'd ask them on how soon they expect it to arrive, but it may not be too bad of a wait given how many they get.

Well then, my next call will be a Toyota dealership in Tuscaloosa..lol. I almost have what I want with another dealer, but it would be great to get exactly what I want for the price I am willing to way. This inspires me to keep looking. I was starting to flirt with the Ram 1500 as an alternative.

I feel ya. We're going to end up paying about $6k over msrp because it's the only dealer with an allotment coming in Solar Octane. Such is life. I feel like Veruca Salt to be honest.

Toyota of Tuscaloosa had the third best offer when I bought mine, and they were very professional and pleasant even when I told them that another dealer had a better deal. I think you will have a good experience with them - once your truck finally comes in.

Predicted timeline of OP's future post/threads:
1 week from now: "I'm soooo excited guys, can't believe this is happening; ohh and the dealership ppl are so nice too!"
2 weeks from now: "What's the best lift kit for my new truck, and can I fit 38.7" tires on it? Thanks in advance!"
1 month from now: "Hhahahha. Look what's waiting in my garage for the new Tundra....!"
2 months from now: "I called the dealer, they still have no update as to when "MY" Tundra will come."
3 months from now: "I called the dealer, 3 times today-they said they'll call me back...never did."
4 months from now: "Dealer says they're getting the truck for me, but it comes with many options I never signed up for or wanted, and they say I have no choice but to either take it r leave it."
5 months from now: "Truck's here....but they want $10K over MSRP for all the "options" they have on it."

...a week later OP starts a new thread: "Guess I won't own a Tundra..."
