Yours will be very difficult without compressing the coil. You have 600lb springs requiring more preload. All Tundras have some lean even new. Full tank of gas average in my experience is 3/8”. Sticking to that I would guess 4 turns with 600lb springs, 3 with 700lb springs.

Damn man that sucks! I just remembered you saying something about you not liking to modify tow rigs, so I was curious if the bug bit ya or something.

My mechanic bent the crap out of my spanner wrench making adjustments. He was able to manage. I have a little over two additional threads showing on the drivers side to eliminate the lean.

I don’t like modding tow rigs or lifts and such. 20’s actually tow better. Less sidewall roll. The 20’s are not any taller, but noticeably heavier.

That is the tool I have and also a correct size punch. Tough to bend those. I adjusted mine with more preload and didn't have a problem. I am LT so my turns will be different and don't know what they are set at. Just weird cause I didnt have any problems adjusting when I was MT either. I think I used a CB shim on the driver's side

I have a few of these. They are little to no help adjusting on the truck, just not enough clearance.

thanks guys. I'll see where I'm at after suspension settle and alignment.
then maybe I'll look into a single CB shim driver side.

I had to correct the 3/4", that was too much. But I can live with 1/4" lean ..lol

Yeah I use that spanner and a punch together due to limited space.

Man i was dead set on getting Kings next month until i saw this. Kinda defeats the purpose of having coilovers almost if you can't adjust them on the truck. i never had a issue with the icons on my Tacoma once jacked off the ground. Might have to think about Fox or Icon now.

Yea I was not impressed, I put Fox's on my Tacoma and they were easy to adjust on the truck. I struggled hard with the Kings and had to borrow a spring compressor to adjust them. Luckily I tried to adjust them before even getting them on the truck so i got them to where people recommended before even putting them on the truck.

Don’t be, they are all the same basic thing. And all can be adjusted on the vehicle. The manufacturer is going to tell you the best way for the worst case scenario adjustment. If you want Kings read the thread and get them from the vendors mentioned in this thread that pre-set them(they give you other choices as well). That will give you the best results, you like Kings, you will get them set/spring rate/valved exactly for you, and have a shop standing behind it if there is a problem. The price, nothing but a little patience. Hope this helps.

Agreed once on the truck they are great, I don't really plan on doing much if any changes down the road.

Fox has switched, they use the same basic design as King now. Same struggle.

Which vendors preset them besides Down South Motor Sports (Wheelers Offroad , SDHQ ??) ? Do they charge extra to do it ? I went to Down South Motor Sports last night and looked at the Kings and their prices are the same as Wheelers, but there is a option for lifted trucks, and if you click that it's $200 more. Is that for extended travel or something , and not just say adjusting to 2.5" to 2.75" of lift (to avoid uca's and clear 285/75/17) ?

I would rather get King or Icon, than fox cause i have read about Finnish issues on the fox, and them being stiffer (to some at least).

hmm. interesting thread. i just put on my kings how i got them from sdhq. i do think i need to adjust them a bit as on bigger hits, the front tires will rub the wheel wells. that being said, i don't seem to have this lean you're talking about.

seriously though, your truck is already highly modified so it's possible it's compensating some of the weight with everything you added or SDHQ sent them already corrected. count the # of threads showing on each side.

sarcasm aside, totally get it. front springs are 700s, deavers are 600. drawers, topper and skids probably balanced it out a bit. i'll give the threads a count. guessing i need to crank them down another 3-4 threads and gain another inch.

per KING instructions, 5 threads is 1 inch.
you also have 700 lbs springs so it might be easier for you to crank them per @Vizsla

K, i figured it had to be something like that, or something outside the normal.
will give them a call, i am not going to order for a month or so. i am an accountant, and have no time to mess with installing them until after tax season.
i did want to have them by 4/15 cause that was going to be my after tax season project.
