    Hello everyone,
NEED HELP. Maybe someone already went through this and can Help me. I installed additional Led strip under the step bars so when I open the doors I have more light. I tapped to the existing led pods but when I connected the ground the light stays on. It does not turn off when I close the doors. Is there a special way of wiring the leds so it turns off as all the other lights on the truck? Please help if any anyone has done this mode. Pictures, instructions or anything that can help. Thanks in advance boy and girls.

    Maybe your wires are crossed?

I have a switch and originally the switch light was always on, even when I turn off the car instead of when I actually turn on and off the switch. Turned out to be because I wired it wrong, swapped the wiring and now light only comes on when I press the switch.

Or you wired it up to a constant power...maybe try wiring it up to the footwell light?

I added strips under my truck to have them come on when the doors open or when I unlock it. I tapped into the cargo light wires under the driver side rear door trim. I don’t any pictures right now, but I can take some later today.

If you tap into the driver side footwell light wires (you must connect both power and ground to this set of wires, because it seems to be on its own relay/circuit)

The lights will fade on when the truck is shut off, before you open the door. And will fade on/off with locking unlocking the doors.

    Any questions let me know.

Next addition will be adding the Lund Bull Bar with the Led light bar but also adding another led light bar on the lower part of the bumper. Thanks again Guys.

I had some Baja Designs rock lights installed that are currently hooked up to my Switch Pros. I'd love to wire them into the interior or cargo lights so they illuminate when I unlock the truck but can also be controlled by my Switch Pros. Just haven't figured out how to do that yet.

(the installer did a crappy job with the wiring...they will be fixing that)

You can easily tap off of the interior footwell light and they will work as the video I previously posted. As far as also getting them to work on a switch at the same time that would require some constant 12v power and relay and switches.

Thanks. I don’t have stock footwell lights. I have some VLEDS ordered and will install those once I receive them. I need to find someone local who is good with wiring and knows switch pros. I’d prefer to pay someone who knows what they are doing to do it, and make it look professional.

Is there a write-up/video out there for the running board light mod including running wires to cab and where to tap into? Did a search, didn't really see anything.

Wanting to do this same kind of thing with some rock lights where they turn on when unlocking and such but can also operate them separately if anyone knows how to wire it that way. I know some from OPT7 have a feature to wire into the door open wiring at the same time so it must be possible with some additional wiring.

It's very easy to wire it. You can tap the wire on the rear driver trim. See this thread and is very helpful. That is how I did mine.

Connected the flexible LED strip into the OEM courtesy lights wires with quick Tee connects. $10 for the strips and another $10 for a box of connectors. Took about 3 hours for both doors.

Comes on with door opening. Turns off with door closing. Puts the light right where you want it.

That is awesome! Thank you very much! Good visual for me to use. I have so many LED strips and gadgets I got from Vleds that I have not yet used. This is my next wiring project.

I have a basic poke light tester. I guess I just ground and look for hot wire by poking through the positap

Make sure it turns off when you close the door. Press the pin switch and wait a few seconds and see if the tester bulb turns off. If it does you got it.

Do not drill anywhere but the grommet that is close by to the trim.
I can take a picture and send tomorrow how I did mine.
