Have to agree with this, between the mpg I was getting with my Silverado and now the Tundra its a wash. I actually do better mpg wise when towing with the Tundra. These manufacturers can claim all they want mpg wise and test it in perfect scenarios to put a nice number on the window sticker but in the real world its not as effective.

So what's everyone's thoughts on the new Silvy after the revel today? Looks like they are adding a diesel as well 3.0l Inline 6. Ford adding a diesel as well and new ram being announced as well. Wonder when Toyota will decide to make there move...

Same dumped my 14 Silverado and didn’t look back, hated that active fuel management so I turned it off. Was ok once I did that but the tundra is so much better, Hell even my was likes it better.

Maybe Toyota just feels like it isn't going to break into the US full-size market any more than it already has, and it will take a slip in the established market share to spark a change. You've obviously got your "I'll never buy Japanese" folks who you'll never convert, but I honestly think if Toyota would just make a little more luxurious interior, added some better technology (Android Auto and Apple Car Play, please), and figured out how to up the MPGs just a little, most reasonable people wouldn't even consider the issue-plagued trucks from the Big 3.

UH NO!!! The running lights will burn out quick. If you ever noticed any vehicle rolling down the road with a burned out running light, it's a chevy. I've seen a brand new Vette with one burned out. This has been a problem for a long time, and they haven't even addressed it. You couldn't give me a chevy. Just my .02 of course

Made the switch to Yota a couple weeks ago after cursing Chevy for years. Had a new 2012 Avalanche, nice vehicle, new engine at 27k miles due to afm. Got the diablo tuner and turned it off but the lifters are still in there and can still fail. That's in addition to other problems. Ran a Taco years ago and should have stayed with Yota, I would be farther ahead.

They just showed the new Chevy Trucks at Detroit Auto Show that starts today. Apparently 6 power train choices. They spot lighted the new Ranger that looks like a Chevy Colorado sort of. The only thing I could find out about the Tundra was something about an improved version of ETune??? That's it???

My sis has had 2 GM's with fuel management engines. A Yukon and now a Suburban. It makes me laugh to hear a $60k+ vehicle sound so horrible whenever the technology decides to do it's thing. I've actually asked my brother-in-law on multiple occasions if there was something wrong with the engine. The noises that come from it at idle and under low load are not normal, it sounds bad, no other way to describe it.

The only GM product I would ever consider is one powered by an Isuzu.

There are a few bad years of the Duramax, but left in stock form with minimal mods they're all pretty good.

Actually, yes....and no. Hasn’t been since around 2009 though. :D

Mainly, they make fun of us for posting that stupid pic of towing the space shuttle all over the place.

The other one is how much the Tundra gets stuck Offroad due to not having a true LS or locker option.

The Tundra gets some strong reviews on other forums. A lot of people came from a Tundra and just needed something bigger, and the DM fits that bill nicely.

I wonder if they have the heated tailgate option like Ford does? Keeps hands from getting cold while pushing it.

I think so, nothing wrong with a little truck discussion no matter the brand.

The new Silverado looks pretty good, I'm not a huge fan of the mirror placement for a truck and I'm curious how they can run on 1cyl as others have stated as well. Maybe Toyota is just waiting for everyone to release there new trucks so they can then figure out what and what not to do.

Chevy and fords have a nice design, i went for reliability and tundra is it. Toyota for some reason is slow moving with designing the tundra but im ok with that, means they are probably watching the failures with companys like ford, chevy and dodge.

One rumor I heard coming from the Det Riot Auto Show this morning is that RAM trucks are finally going to lose that stoopid railroad train grille and go with the traditional non goofy look.
