Yes, it is. Does look to have been color matched though, and the silver insert is different than the typical black.

What would be the best route to do it, I know from the forums people have done with wrap or some special spray can sutff.

ok! got my grill installed. wish i had a color matched surround, but ohh well. definitely a nice grille. an improvement over stock for sure. couple things to note... they send 8 screws with the toyota insert. 4 large, 4 small. dont use the large ones. they will poke through the grill. ask me how i know. lol.

looking forward to getting the 3d printed insert, as the glossy nonsense that comes with it is awful. but even with that, its still an improvement over stock.

Here’s my before and after. Just waiting for the nuts to come in. I forgot to order them from the dealer.

I’m pissed at myself. I over tightened the screws for the emblem.

    THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT.

i did the same. in my case anyway, it wasnt overtightening, it was that they shipped the emblem with 2 sets of screws... one set was too large. i didnt even find the second set of screws till after i made the mistake. 4 screws, 4 holes... these must be the right screws, right? wrong. if you use the larger screws, use at least a few washers on each one. but its better to use the small washers.

also something to note, is the new grill comes with new clip nuts to go on the new grill. they are the things that the 10x m10 bolts screw into in order to fasten the grille to the hood. they are garbage. its real easy to take the oem clips off of the oem grill and put them on the new grille.

these look similar to what you get:
NS5.6YLW Speed Clip Metric Nut Yellow Zinc.jpg
and really, these are probably a bit heavier guage sheet metal than what you get. regardless, the bolts get as much bite as the thickness of the sheet metal. probably 1 thread worth.

the oem ones look like this:
    41lc5oWMrVL.jpg
obviously much more bite. you can see why its better to use the oem ones. probably took like 2 minutes extra to remove the oem ones. i highly recommend doing so.

and it was already noted in OP's first post, but ill post it here as well in case you missed it. after using these 4 small screws for the emblem, there are no small screws for the hood latch lever. the screws used in the oem grill are too large. you are going to want some screws that are a similar size to the small ones that you used for the emblem.

I definitely paused this morning when I went to put the Toyota emblem on and opted for the small screws based on this advice.

It's hard to tell in this photo as I tried to crop it but the piece came out nice and fit great. Very happy with it and how it looks and blends much better than the plastic piece it came with before. Much appreciated, Rob!

Hi all, I have been following this tread and it's amazing. I have 07 Tundra that my late father passed to me and would like to give it a face lift. I've read that I need an 10-13 surround so that I can install the grill insert from Alibaba seller. Anyone have success doing this and can offer guidance on 10-13 surround that will fit 07 Tundra? Any advice would be appreciate it. I am attempting to see if anyone has had success with this.

I did the same thing. Fixed it with a heat gun on low and gently pressing it back into place. Be VERY careful and do it slowly and you’ll never see the punctures again. Mine came out like new

Yes, I just did this on my 08. You need the 10-13 surround and some extra parts. Sparks has the extra parts here: https://www.sparksparts.com/p-2010-grille-assembly-installation-kit-for-2007-2009-tundras-pk53100kit

When you remove the old grill, it will become abundantly obvious where the two steel brackets go. On your hood, you'll need some plastic pry tools (Harbor Freight has a good set for a few dollars ) to pop out the white plastic pieces that receive the screws from the old grill. With all those out, the yellow pieces from Sparks go in the middle holes. The two outside holes don't appear to be used. The new grill surround will have little nodules that pop into the yellow pieces. The screws from Sparks will attach the surround to the brackets that you replaced. The only old hardware I reused was some of the hardware used to mount those brackets.

On the 10-13 grille you get, I found it easier to take a pair of tin snips and cut apart the old insert so it comes out very easily, as it's a tight fit.

The hood latch release requires different screws. For what it's worth, a Metric sheet metal screw sized M2.9 at about 12mm length seems to work about right. I would get some washers also since the screw head may want to pass through the release. If you're feeling really brave, you could probably drill and tap for a 4-40 machine screw.

Ordered tonight from same as OP for $150 shipped to MD. Also picked up a MGM Rock warrior grill from someone local to install it into. Got to start somewhere with getting rid of the chrome. Will post pictures once it comes in.

Already shipped and will be here this weekend likely. Also the Tacoma TSS insert will fit. May add some of the lights also up front since I don't like the Amber. Not decided though. Can always be added later.

You will need an '10-13 grille surround and support brackets for the Alibaba grille insert to work on an '08. Then it will be a direct swap onto your truck.
