new guy here, very helpful thread. I have a 22 TRD sport and want to go with some new wheels and tires. As an aside, @sparky412...is that your garage in the background? I am in the design phase of mine, would love a little more information on sizing, etc.

Poke is heavily tire dependent as well. Some tires run wider than others

When I was at their shop in late April, that guy was stressing out over that build trying to get it ready in time for that show in Flagstaff. He had his door open and was on the phone nonstop talking to vendors and others about that truck lol. I got to see it in it's infancy when I got a tour of the shop.

Since I am a Toyota Employee, I did some digging this morning after uncovering some misleading info and wanted to share about the wheels on the 2022 tundra.

The black TRD 20" wheels offroad if you will (TSS and XP pkg wheel) is a 20x8.5"
    PT946-34221 & center cap PT280-89210-F2

The black TRD 20" Sport wheel is 20x8.5"

The Black PRO 18" BBS Wheel is 18x8.5" PT960-34220-2F & Center Cap
    PT280-89210-F2

The limited wheel is 20x8 not 8.5" PT946-34220

The OEM silver SR5 wheel is 18x 7.5"

The black and silver offroad wheel is 18x7.5"

    The Platinum/1794 wheel is 20x8"

I will do more digging when I have time to update the part numbers for the rest.

Easy assumption that the 1794 is also 8" since the wheels look identical save for the different coating on the platinum.

I just saw that a guy flew in and bought the truck…swapped the red wheels and went for the single spare wheel carrier.

Would love to know how much that cost was

Oh snap, yeah I'm sure that wasn't cheap at all. Then again if you're flying yourself in to buy something from Westcott and not a dealer you probably don't care anyway haha

Installed my 20"x9" +1 offset Fuel Wheels today. Ended up going with the 35/11.5/R20 Ridge Grapplers to reduce the "poke".

Let me know what you guys think. Plan on adding my AVS Westcott leveling kit this Tuesday, then I will post after pictures as well.

    Hello all!
I got a Blue Platinum that should be arriving at the end of the month. Was wondering if my tire/wheel set up from my Silverado will work on the Tundra.

It’ll work. You’ll have a lot of poke with that high negative setup. Enough that I would look at fender flares with those wheels

Awesome! Thanks for the reply. Have you seen any pics with that offset installed on these trucks?
Also, I would love to get my hands on the PRO flares but doesn't seem like they are available yet (unless I am not searching correctly)

I haven’t seen anything with that offset. You can look through this thread, someone might be running that setup. I don’t think the pro flares are available yet

As you can see I wanted that setup but didnt want them to poke out that much. You would be better with the +1 offset.

    Thanks

I’m new to Toyota… How picky they are they about aftermarket parts affecting anything to do with their warranty? Obviously, I don’t mean anything to do with under the hood, just other mostly aesthetic things.

I am looking at leveling kits like the Westcott TRD Pro one, and want to use the factory BBS wheels and squeeze some 35s onto them.

I had a leveling kit and bigger tires on my ‘18 Ram Dually and Chrysler never gave a flip at any dealer I ever needed to take it in to.

What do you mean about affecting the warranty? Contrary to what dealerships will tell you, your warranty cannot be "voided" by modifications. A warranty is not an all or nothing proposition. For example, if you put on a suspension and bigger tires they cannot deny a warranty claim for your turbo going nuclear. Your mod could not be reasonably proven to be the cause of the failure and they could not use the mod to justify denying a claim. The Moss Magnusson Act protects consumers from this kind of shady practice. Now, if you put a bigger turbo on and your engine grenades, they can reasonably show your mod caused the problem and deny that claim. Basically, if what you mod couldn't have caused the problem, they cannot deny the warranty claim on that basis.

More here if you want to read up on it. https://www.tundras.com/threads/if-you-are-asking-can-this-void-my-warranty-please-read.60493/

I have a 22 pro coming in and I already ordered the wescott pro lift they have. It’s supposed to be coming in 1-2 weeks and as far as 35s go I went with 285 75 18 Yokohama geolander mts on the factor bbs 18s.It’s just shy of 35 inches actual and it’s like 11.2 wide. I didn’t want to run spacers or shims so I kinda took that route. I’ve seen a few people running that size in the forum and they look good with the lift. I was hoping to see a few pros done up before I made my decision but they must not be out like that. Not sure if that helps but that was my plan at least.

Appreciate the answer and putting my mind at ease.
Ive had lots of different vehicles and certainly understand as far as the go-fast stuff like turbos and tuning, etc. I get that. I just didnt know how far Toyota, specifically, took the disclaimer of “if it reasonably can be proven” that something as far as bigger tires or anything like that “could negatively affect” or “stress” something in the drivetrain or some BS like that. Lol. Only vehicle I ever just said F it was my last Duramax. It was a pig and had occasional issues until I said cram your warranty and swapped turbo, downpipe, threw in EFI live, dyno tuning, etc… Went from being a pig with check engine lights to pushing ~500hp and 1100lbft at the wheels. Never had an issue again other than the occasional breaking loose at 70mph when passing someone…
    :burnrubber:

I work in roofing and see how certain shingle manufacturers rarely pay claims for manufacturer defects. It has never happened to me personally, but there are numerous complaints on how they come out and find something that isn’t quite kosher on the install, or say the shingles were installed when it was too cold (we never install below 50 degrees F) and thats why their sealant didnt set… That kind of BS. They look for anything and everything to get out of admitting their product failed. Homeowner typically ends up paying out of pocket on these types of things. Thats why I was asking. Other industries have the same type of slimy things. Like I said though, never had an issue with any other vehicle, but this is my first Yoda so wanted to be sure.

Thanks! This is my first Toyota anything and the Westcotts in black anodized and 285/75s on the stock BBS wheels is my exact plan as well. I see people doing it of course but just wasn’t familiar with how Toyota dealerships, in particular, looked at it.

Has anyone just done the Westcott collar lift and ran the stock tires on a TRD Pro? Eventually I will go with 35s, but if it doesnt look half bad on the 33s (32.6 I think) then I might try to get my moneys worth out of them for a while.

I ran 33s (Nitto Trail Grappler 285/70/17s) on my Ram for a while with just a 2” front leveling kit and Rough Country shocks, and it looked pretty damned decent, and it definitely sat higher than this Tundra even when it was stock.

For those of you that have added the Westcott lift and/or larger tires, what did you do with the front wheel well liners? The shop I got mine installed at basically tucked them in, but the D/S has started to rub a bit at close-to-full lock on the back side. Westcott in their videos, has said they’ve bolted the liner down or clipped it - looking for some info on what bolt or clip specifically to use in that case. Westcott wasn’t super helpful when messaged directly. “TRD Jon” on YouTube/Instagram has basically just cut the liner, if that’s a legit option just wondering if there are thoughts on that - damage, performance issues, etc.

I’m running the Westcott lift with 285/75r18 Duratracs (OD measures to 35.1”).

Westcott said in one of his videos there is an existing hole on the backside of the wheel well where you can bolt or pin the liner back. I think some have also used a plastic automotive clip (Lowes and HD have these in their hardware section). Get up under there and pull back the liner and see if there is a hole and if so you can get a bolt/clip in the proper size to fit.

Hey, this parking lot looks oddly familiar to the one I picked my Tundra up from yesterday on Colfax :) The black handles look great, I might have to head that direction especially since the OEM Army Green ones don't seem to be making an appearance any time soon. Have you done anything to the mustache/rear bumper?

RSG! Your rig looks great with the Pro wheels! Black handles look great, I don’t think I would do green anymore after having them - I vinyl wrapped them with Avery Satin Black, was not too difficult for a first-timer. As for the tailgate, I put the black trim/handle on from Roman, photo is below but my truck is super dirty right now so doesn’t do it justice. Haven’t done anything with the mustache yet, but I have ERA army green 2k paint to try out whenever I get some time - if that doesn’t work/hold up plan is to get it professionally painted.
