Up here in Canada Toyota is packaging the Tundra differently. Even with the Platinum i've ordered i can't get AVS or power running boards or rear step. I believe in the US if you get AVS you get 5 drive modes, up here only 3.

For drive modes, my Limited TRD off-road has 3 drive modes as well. Eco, Normal & Sport. Are you referring to MTS, multi-terrain select?

In the USA if you get the platinum or 1794 there is a package giving you AVS (adaptive variable suspension) which also gives you 5 drive modes which the 2 extra modes adapt the suspension. Not available in Canada. But up here the auto extendable tow mirros are standard where in the USA the mirrors are an option. Weird!!

Not really an issue. The issue [as of yesterday] is that these rims are being discontinued and there is none available; so I have been told by the tire shop I usually get my tires through! Shatty.

Well that’s a bummer…so the hunt continues (though you probably already have options 2 and 3 like most of the rest of us o_O )

Our Tacoma/4Runner offset is way too aggressive for the new Tundra. It would definitely be too bro for our liking. Can someone do us a favor and measure the actual size of the hub on the new Tundra?

If you’re asking so you can put a factory Taco or 4Runner wheel, it won’t work (from why I understand). The hub is too small. Any aftermarket wheel with the right bolt pattern and 106.1 hub will work.

Does anyone know if the 16" faux trd beadlock wheels will fit? I have a set from my gen 2 Tacoma and think they would look good on the new Tundra

From everything on here 17 is the smallest diameter to fit a 22

No, the minimum size is a 17”. You can test fit and report back, because a 17” has minimal clearance around the caliper.

The other thing to note is that not all 17" rims are created equal. TRD Jon on YouTube was test fitting different 17" VTX wheels for his 22 and not all of them cleared the calipers. Even the ones that did only had razor thin clearance.

I like the idea of 17's and looked at them when I picked my new rims. Mainly because the tires are much lighter and tend to be cheaper, but the clearance was a concern for me. I didn't like the idea of only having millimeters of clearance with 17's so I stuck with 18's for the long term.

Same and everyone that’s running 17’s don’t seem to be worried about the clearance. It’d be my luck a rock or something stupid would get in there and tear it all up. Plus, once I found the deal I got on my wheels there was no turning back LOL.

Agreed. I was also thinking about years down the road and having to replace calipers. Heaven forbid an aftermarket caliper have a casting that is a few millimeters larger than OEM. Oof.

Side note...did you ever put your leveling kit on? Mine's still sitting in the garage. Hopefully, I can find a shop that can do the alignment so I can install it and align it on the same day.

Nope, same boat. We’ve either had something going on or the weather has been garbage. Once it’s done I’ll take it to Toyota to have it aligned. The new plan is Monday, but we’ll see.

Has anyone found out what tire size(s) fit as a spare? Reached out to Westcott and they were awesome at getting back to me, they initially tested a 35x12.5x18 without luck, saying it would need some modification. But, they later reached out and said it might be possible and they were still working on some different sizes. They were at least hopeful for a 295. But, apparently no one getting work done at Westcott is going for a full size spare?

In any case, just seeing if maybe someone has fit a 285/75r18, a 295/70r18, a 305/70r18, or a 35x12.5x18 as a spare successfully?

Also, just wanted to give some kudos to the team at Westcott - really unbelievable customer service and I’m sure I’ll have an answer from them soon if no one on this forum does.

Has anyone done a +1 offset? Is it possible? I have a set of 20x9 +1 with 295/60/20 tires on my current truck and would love to just move them over to my 3rd gen. Is it possible? If so, how would it look? I'm not a big fan of the poke look.

It’s gonna be a decent amount of poke I’d say very very similar to the guy who has 0 offset but also depends on how wide you’re going.

This is mine, 20x9 +20, I think +1 would be aggressive.

Does a 112.1mm bore effect anything? This is one spec that does not match OEM [OEM is 106.1mm]. Sorry, unfamiliar with what the impacts might be!

No, the bore size can be larger if the wheel is lug centric. Meaning the lug nuts center the wheel on the hub. What wheel are you talking about?

The ones I was originally on the hunt for have been discontinued unless I can track x4 or x5 down from somewhere:
But I also found another wheel that I am also looking into from RTX:
Looks like the RTX are spot on but without websites updated for configuring to the new Tundras, I am trying to make sure they fit before ordering anything.

The RTX would definitely be the way to go over the Black Rhino you chose, in my opinion. The BR part number you posted has a 4.5” backspacing, which is aggressive. It’ll stick out for sure #savethepaint

Hey all, forgive my lack of knowledge...
My '22 is set to be built next month SR5 TRD OR - so the 18" wheels that I would either powder coat or replace...
Most everyone seems to be doing 18x9 then a +18 offset for a little poke, but it's too much for my tastes.

Found a pair of stock 18" on eBay (not OR's) but look to be 18x7...+60 - I'm guessing that's the same for all 3rd gens with stock 18" wheels...

    So a few questions...
Any benefit to running 18x9 vs 18x8 or even the stock 18x7?
The plan was to shoot for running 34" tires, so maybe 275/75/18... Is that goofy to do with 18x8 or x7? Does it look funky?
On an 18x8, would there still be some poke?

Seems like I've heard some companies will do 2022 Tundra specific wheels to give the option of no or very little poke. Probably something to expect later this year, correct?

Again, sorry for not knowing jack s***! Thanks for all the help!

I think they have 2 Black Rhinos with a very similar part # (one with the -18 offset (4.5 backspace) and another with a 6 offset (5.5 backspace)…the one he pointed to actually is the 6 offset which is still aggressive but there are guys here running 0 offset so you might take a look and see if that similar look suits you.

    645AACA5-2A92-4FC2-85B1-654013915EC6.jpg

You definitely do not want to go with that -18 however :eek2: (in my humble opinion)

I second the motion of going for the RTX also (smoother looking wheel though I can’t tell how heavy they are)
…it still has an aggressive offset of 10 (assuming you are going for the 18’s ) but that’s a little less poke than the 6 offset Rhinos and awhole lot less than -18
